  4. [quote the thing is when you got your own line going, pride can sometimes make you turn a blind eye to whats realy going on within the line, and any problems with them will be sent over your shoulder, but you aint only fooling your self, your doing the sme to others. al i can say is iff in dought ,ship them out as ive done. would you not be better off putting them down!! shipping them out!were to? dog dealers?not having a go,but if they ain't up to it ,whats the point in some poor sod buying them?unless of course you can find pet homes for them.
  5. out yesterday for a bit of a dig, tonic entered a place i was certain that would hold, she was "on" straight away and after a while getting her quarry bottled up,i located and found her below the entrance at about 8 inches deep,a few spade fulls and i was down to her,she was stuck fast to her quarry,i removed the bitch, and had alook.she had two bottle up in a pot,so i let them out to run for another day

  10. mate im not saying that ! the post that started this thread was about a litter of these type of terriers being advertised as "working terriers" thats where the problem is! if they were advertised as" ratters" or "bushing dogs" then fine ,but not as workers, because soom poor sod is going to end up buying a pup ,rearing it ,giving it chance after chance, then after a couple of years,he has to admit failure and start again. Its all about being honest about what the capabilates of the dogs you are breeding are!
  11. most dogs will kill a rat or a rabbit, but not all ,and there are standards that we all have as well as the digging boys , i have seen plenty of video of lads digging with upto 3 terriers to ground at once , are these working terriers cos they have to work in a gang ,just cos it don,t go to ground ,don,t make it a non-worker , i use my dogs for rats and rabbits , its my job , so they do a job of work , they will also go to ground and graft , but i tend to not let them these days , cos i cannot afford to have them off work for any period of time, they are still working terriers terriers that
  12. any dog will kill a rat or rabbit, its not WORK!!,fun yes ,sport yes,but not work.work for a terrier is earth work, staying tight with its quarry untill dug full stop!!
