  2. As d6k says they do not have to be approved for moles.
  3. We have all read before and it is Code of Practice not law, the only law is not to use locking snares setting them on fences is not illegal but could lead to a prosecution if taken to court and proven that code of practice was not followed and the fox suffered by being strangled or hung up.
  4. As OTC says its not, its just code of practice.
  5. I use a Crossman CO2 .22 pistol. The power is close to the 6ft lbs limit an is ideal for rats, squirrels and mink.
  6. I have several that I have used for a couple of seasons with no problems.
  7. Master Hunter sells them. Master Hunter - Alan Salmon
  8. I agree totally Ianb but at the end of the day its these people that are writing the reports that will ultimately effect the future of snaring. Snares with breakaways are being tested as we write at the moment, commissioned by DEFRA the report is due out December time.
  9. is that a legality? so it legally has to be in an open run? yes came out think last year It is code of practice not law, but you could leave yourself open to prosecution if the fox was found hanging and you had not followed the code of practice. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD CLEAR THIS UP AS I UNDERSTOOD IT WAS ILLEGAL TO SNARE A FENCELINE MY SON WAS ON PLACEMENT FROM COLLEGE ON A SHOOTING ESTATE FOUR YEARS AGO AND THEN THEY HAD TO SET SNARES TWO INCHES OFF THE FENCE AND I BELIEVE THAT IT HAS TO BE THE LENGTH OF SNARE AND TEALER AWAY FROM THE FENCE NOW SO TO AVOID STRANGULATION .

  11. Our council offer a rat service only to pensioners and benefit claimants, everyone else has to go private. They sub-contract the rat control service out to a local pest control company.
  12. It has a full length door, just go inside and dispatch them.
  13. It depends on the farm and if they are producing silage or grazing livestock. If they cut silage they will without doubt want the moles kept off of those fields.
  14. It may be over the top but if you are culling pigeons for local authorities, commercial premises etc they will often ask you for evidence of training and insurance.
  15. Killgerm run airgun courses, give them a call as they may have another running. Killgerm Courses
  16. better pic than your profile pic at least it doesnt endanger our sport Mate don't worry about my profile pic, it obviously bothers you as you sent me a pm as well. In case you missed it its a SNARING, TRAPPING & PEST CONTROL FORUM and contains lots of pics of snared foxes if you bother to look around. 120-2
  17. This is mine, I use ground funnels as opposed to a ladder as Jackdaws escape form ladder traps. The ground funnels catch crows and rooks.
  18. A couple more Master Hunter cubbie and a Coni Mount
  19. A lot is personal preference, I find them just as quick to use as the 116. The biggest draw is the price I can buy the traps direct from the states and even with the dollar exchange rate at the moment they still work out with shipping at least £3.00 cheaper per trap than a 116. Both traps do not generally take prisoners but at the end of the day it all depends how the animal enters the trap and at what speed, I have been using a mix of Kania's, 120-2's and 116's at this contract and out of the 69 killed so far only two were foul caught in bodygrip traps. The kania's have had no miss catches
