  1. paterdale moocher, You shouldn't need to ask that question, have more common sence mate
  2. I’m looking to join a club in Wales (ideally in the south) where they have or have access to ranges for centrefire rifles. I’ve looked online but can’t find fuckall , could anyone recommend a good one? Thanks
  3. Leon-b, Mate I’m not having a go but what’s the point of asking people for advice when you’re not going to take it? It sound like that you’ve already made your mind up and you have gone with looks over working ability. Don’t think by crossing a staff with a JRT your going to end up with the dog you have inside your head (I hope that makes sense).
  4. Next year I’m applying for a variation on my firearms certificate so that I can have a centrefire rifle, which I’ll use mainly for foxes, target shooting and when funds let me a bit of stalking. BASC recommend that I join the NRA and a target-shooting club because after doing this there should be on reason why I shouldn’t get it granted. Taking everything into account would a .243 be a good choice for that sort of shooting? I’m flying solo down hear so any help would be appreciated Cheers all
  5. Thanks to everyone who replyed to this post Hopefully next year when i end up getting a pup it won't be a bag of shit because I listerned to everyone's advice and stayed away from "big names" and the CW. Will keep you all posted
  6. Sorry mate after reading that back it does sound like I was directing that comment at you (i'm not) What i'm getting at is so many people tell others how they should be working their dogs, when at the end of the day it's down to the owner and the job that needs doing.
  7. Well mate it's like this; If you read anything on the background of terriers it always says that they were originally bred/used to control all types of vermin from small rodents all the way up to foxes & badgers. We all know that this forum is full of hardcore boys (and girls) that only use their dogs for foxes and think this is the only way, that’s fine everybody is entitled to their own opinion who are we to tell anybody how they should use their dogs. Respect must be given to them for the work they do because without them we wouldn’t have the choice we do when picking good WORKING
  8. Where did you get the black and tan lakeland from mate?
  9. If you have the cash Burris Optics have made a scope for Sako to use with the quad, check out Sako's website. Below is a picture of it and some info hope this helps mate Sighting in with the Sako Quad scope Mount the Sako Quad scope (made by Burris Optics) using the Sako or Burris scope mounts. Find the zero point for each barrel/caliber by adjusting the elevation and windage turrets follwing the scope manual. Adjust the resettable adjustment dials to zero to memorize the setting for each of the barrels/calibers. The adjustment dial colors correspond to the color coding on the
  10. Where would you suggest I start looking then? You would think if someone is known for breeding good WORKING dogs then you stand a good chance of getting something worthwhile from them. At the moment I’m uneducated in what to look for in a Lakeland, if I went to look at a litter I wouldn’t have a clue what dog to pick. What should I be looking for?
  11. For a good quality target try http://www.midwayuk.com/target.pdf
  12. I want to get a lakeland next year but other than looking in the countrymans weekly i'm not sure where to start, what names should I be looking for in the world of lakeland terriers? I don't mind travelling so thats not a issue as long as I get a good dog at the end of it. Cheers
  13. Cheers Tomy I'll give the spring a stretch later How do you find it shoots after bedding the stock? I've made sure the barrel is free floating by taking off the stock and giving it a sanding to take out any high spots, I found loads of post on rimfirecentral.com saying its something everyone should look at.
  14. I have a CZ 452 .17HMR and when I get down to 3/2 rounds left in the mag, when I try and reload the bolt won’t pick up the next round instead it pushes it down and slides over the top. If I hold the mag and push it up from the bottom its fine, I’ve only had the gun 6 months from new so it’s not like it’s had a hammering. Would this problem be down to the spring in the mag being knackered? Also if anyone has found a good “how to†on pillar bedding or done it them selves, could you point me in the right direction. Cheers
