All the best, if you have good reason and the right land etc there should not be a problem...hopefully the WHOLE ticket will be Open, don't actually know anyone who has an Open ticket just for rimfire...it is Open or not in my experience! And the Open bit is such a relief...one of those days you remember when it happens, until you get old like me! If thats the case bonus

Well the FAO came round today so fingers crossed that I get the .223 that I asked for, he also said to leave it with him with regards to getting a open ticket for the .22 & .17HMR

One place I would advise you to stay clear of is Sportsman Gun Centre, altho I found them to be the cheapest the service they provide is shocking I ordered a mag from them over the phone late last year I waited for over a week but still the mag had not come, gave them a ring asking where said item was and the answer I got was they didn't know anything about it. I then had to fu*k about with my bank getting proof that they had taken the money out of my account for the mag and email it over to them, two days later what did I find in the postbox. They also fu*cked me about for over 6 we

both very accurate mate 1/2 inch grouping at 100 yards if you do your bit. my mate has shot a couple of 1/4 inch groups at 100 yards with mine and i no he has shot less then 1/2 inch with his 223. so about the same really. i just like the more flater shooting of the 22/250 set it a 1 1/2 inchs high at 100 yards and your pretty much flat out to 300 or there about Is that using factory ammo mate?

In comparison what are they like accuracy wise jamie?

The same bloke who recommended I go for a .222 did say the .204 Ruger was a cracking little round, but because it's not to popular and I've not done any re-loading, and I don't have the kit I thought it's best to stick to something I can easily buy off the shelf. I have had a go of a TAC .20 which I was very impressed with, it was almost as quite as my HMR
-
There's fu*k all wrong with limewire as long as you know what to look out for, I've never had any problems with it.
-
I'm going to go down the re-loading route as I want to get the best I can (accuracy wise) out of any given calibre, but until I have all the necessary equipment I'll have to rely on sub standard factory ammo. I'm surprised more people don't do it once you go down the route of re-loading where you get your ammo from isn't a issue anymore, also the list of possible calibre is endless.

I've got the FA officer coming around next week to sort out having my ticket opened for the .22 and .17HMR, at the same time were having a chat about putting in for my first centrefire. At present I'm torn between the .222 and .223, I was going for a .223 but a bloke I met recently said to go for the .222 amongst other things he said it started life off as a benchrest calibre so it's more accurate than the .223. He did say he had a .223 and couldn't get on with it so he could be basing his opinion on the trouble he's had in the past. I'm going to start home loading so my way of thinking w

This is my 12 week old beddy/whip x collie/whip

I disagree mate, I would rate my nitestalker 180 over the Lightforce Lance and Striker any day of the week. The Nitestalker is not without fault thou, I do have issues concerning the filter and the lead but they can be sorted. ATB young1982 check out this topic from a while back I put a post showing how I overcame the problem with glare I was getting http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...;hl=nitestalker

I've been trying to get on there for ages sent countless emails to admin but nothing, a mate of mine is on there and said a while back there was a spot of bother and threats of taking the owner/people running it to court were made. After that know body wanted anything to do with it, the bloke that is running it now is a numpty he's doesn't keep it up to date and because of this the site is going to the dogs.

I have two coming in the post, should be here some time next week lets hope their as good as they say.

Yes mate. She's call Dyl (it's short for Dyllis)

Picked her up Friday night after a 6 hour drive from Pembrokeshire in south west Wales to Wakefield just outside Leeds, only to get back into the car turn around and head all the way home. Her mother is a first cross beddy/whippet and the father is a first cross collie/whippet, can't wait to see how she'll turn out, she's mad as a bag of frogs.

Rabbit control with a added bonus
young1982 replied to young1982's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I've been shooting at targets attached to a piece of jara (railway sleeper) at 60 yards in my garden, the depth of the holes it left really surprised me. I think people including myself underestimate the power of this small round. I won't make a habbit of shooting foxes with in thats what I got the .17hmr for. my rifle is a 16 inch CZ 452 Silhouette fitted with a sak mod and a ags 3-9x40 scope -
Rabbit control with a added bonus
young1982 replied to young1982's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
I got mine in A4 sheets from an art shop in Carmarthen, also get yourself some sticky back velcro. Cut the acetate larger than your headlight to give you room to attach one half of the velco to it, the other half of the velcro you stick to your 4x4/car or whatever you drive thus making them removeable. You can adjust the brightness by adding or removing sheets, they also sold it in blue and yellow. -
Over the last couple of months I've been giving my mate a hand shooting rabbits on a local golf course, he's runs a pest control business specializing in rabbit control and most of our work has been away so it was really good to get something close to home. We've been visiting the golf course every friday night as we both have full time jobs and it doesn't matter what time we get back as we have the weekend to recover, over the months we've been getting good bags of rabbits our best we got two weeks ago a fine number of 44 which is epic for this area. Friday just gone saw the lowest bag to
