  1. It is my opinion and I am entitled to it Lurchers are for catching things not for racing each other or doing jumps etc Some abillitys can't be maintained without hunting and there you get what I see now a mess of an animal amongst pet homes:( I watched the craze take off during the miners strike here !! I am glad to say its dying a death from what I see !! I am not knocking you personally it is just an opinion regards anyone who picks a breed that was bred to do a job and never does that job with it .. Not just lurchers
  2. He used to have quality greyhounds I had a half cross did hard graft for five years running Derbyshire hills mainly its dam was a coursing greyhound and well bred !! I believe the perfect collie cross is just that a F1 anything else not worth having Look how Hancock soon started breeding 3/8.5/8 crosses lol And I bet they were not up to much too Now someone mentioned not minding pet lurchers and racers well I do !!!!!!! That's where this game started going downhill a lurcher is a hunting dog full stop no hunting and its no lurcher to me lol ATB
  3. Mint pups Rew and a credit to you for the choice of mating You know the speed and mouth of the dams line and they can hang on a bit And Romeo as sire was top choice only thing that let the dog I owned bred like the dam was overall toughness of feet and up to the stoppers mine was half whippet grew same lines.. And obviously more wind is always a great thing lol Atb with them hope they all get homes where they will get a fair crack at the whip and we get to see !!
  4. A good few black foxes were released by rufford and grove hunt in Notts late sixty's or early seventies used to see them about a lot but they bred out not seen one in years now .. Love the cats I don't buy the big ones out there either TOMO !!! But not only those have bred here lynx bred in favisham for a while but was kept quiet about they never survived more than a decade though... What about bears I could tell you a tale of one lol And a wallaby encounter miles from Derbyshire where they used to reside !! You never know what's out there nowadays !! But best way to find out

Black foxes used to be common where i grew up rufford and grove released some black strain foxes back in the sixtys ive seen menalistic blacks but these were a lot darker and spread a fair distance at that time.

I fetched my first lurcher from your road on off a chap in rainhill 25 quid out of exchange and mart knew nothing about dogs then so little i went for a bit
  18. Bless you darbo for sticking that up heard a lot of good things about that collie i like the sound of the beardie some of the thickest skinned dogs ive seen have come from beardie ancestry always fancied one but never got round to it. Like yourself mate i couldnt say what hes got on yard now i havent been back there he had access to some of the best coursing greyhound blood back then a far better bet than racing blood if thats what hes doing now howd you find the beardie to handle they look fiesty things saw Remus some dog him liked the goat out back lol.
  19. The dog i had out of chuckles in 87. only made 24 . the dog showed a lot of potential was doing well on rabbits day and night and started to knock over hares daytime. had a great nose on him and was a belting retriever. cant say he was tested or how good or bad he would have become. he died just before reaching 2 years of age. real bad quality photo. Looks a cracker darbo not to big either know what you mean about em not having the chance to reach full maturity mate its a sickener everytime it happens. Sounds like he was hitting the mark mate did you go back for another.
