I always buy my knives in the french fishing shops. as it is legal to buy one at 13, under 3in but they dont really care.

they will be back on mainly meat the minute I get back and the season starts. I cant wait!!!!

KP&S nets in the countrymans weekly sell them at about 3 quid for 10 hazel pegs.

yes I have seen it but I have found my really good brinded one. I can knitt it onto the ring but its when I get to the 3rd row that all the meshes pull through and go slack, and different sizes. Can I make nets that are non shaped? and turn them into purse nets?

Im lucky as my ferrets dont necessarily lie up (touch wood) so i worked an 8 hole bury with 2 ferrets and purse nets and I think got 4 and know lie ups. some prefere big ferrets and some like small but ive always thought if you have a couple ferrets that dont lie up then you may aswell use them in a small burry as it gets the job done quicker and there aint as much waiting around. as for your bad luck, well bad luck mate and I hope you can find a nice couple ferrets for this season as I would have thought anyone who has heard your story would take pity on you and give you one or 2! anyway good

Finally I have managed to get all my ferrets eating dry for while i am on holiday (france on sunday wooooo!!) i have been mixing it with canned cat food and gradually making the amount smaller everyday, they have been on 100% dry for a couple days now and they are all eating it. Thankyou for all the usefull advise i have recieved on my other thread (from meat to dry???) as it has all payed off. I can now go on holiday and not worry!

well. everything is fine until I start the 3rd row of meshes on a purse net. I tried again and havent managed. I have all of my holiday in france to crack it and I think it may be down to the mesh board Im using aswell. I hope I get the one from dadd2005 before i leave !!

right I think I have realized my mistake... When you go to the second row of meshes and increase the mesh by 1 at the first mesh and once at the ned. On the Third row I think I was holding the gauge wrong as when I did the first mesh it started getting bigger and bigger, and the same with those b*****d little mesh that are created by the increase of meshes. If this makes any sense then have I found out the right thing? should I be holding the hemp against the top of the mesh board tight to stop slipping? please help, regards Will.f11

My farmer friend got done for shooting 2 tractor buckets full of starlings with a shotgun and airrifle in his cattle sheds. he got his single farm payment suspended and for his amount of land it was well over 250,000 quids... a month!!! he was gutted but eventually he won his appeal and now has a license to shoot them because they are being a pest on his farm. it took him a few days to work up to that amount of birds but when he got a suprise vistit from DEFRA they soon told him whats what!!!
