help needed! i need your opinions

Cymag has, indeed been withdrawn; not because it is unsafe, but because it would have cost the manufacturer too much money to put it through Europe (the Biocides Directive). We are left with Aluminium Phosphide fumigation compounds as the only chemical control method with is legal in the UK. Gassing does have some advantages, but the cost of the product combined with the level of qualification needed to purchase and use the product makes it quite expensive. I would agree with the earlier post that it very much depends on the circumstances. If you are asking what the most 'cost effect -
You can also fall back on the fact that by law you now have to remove any bait at the end of the treatment. Just to clarify; I don't get the whole payment up front. I charge for the next visit (if one is going to be needed) at each visit. What I mean is that at the initial treatment, I charge for that and a follow up. When I go back, I charge for the next follow up (again, if one is needed) and so on until the final visit when no payment is collected. So at each visit, I have the payment for the next 'in hand'. I hope that makes sense!

How do you trap a crow with a gun? Carrion Crows can be caught with side entry larsens, or try a ladder trap for rooks. Do a search on here for Ladder trap and you will find lots of useful posts on the subject.

I would recommend that you stop using text talk, which is banned, and do a search on here for Solway.

I'm not sure where you get the idea that you can trade for a year without telling HMRC, but it's not true. Before you consider trapping professionally, there are a few basic things you need. The first, and most important, is insurance. If a horse trips on a mole trap, it could cost thousands, and you, as the person who set the trap would be liable. Secondly, although you've done some trapping, you would need to be confident that you could catch enough moles to make it worthwhile. If you've never done any mole trapping before, that is something which is going to be difficult. While

And even when you have made 50 posts, txt talk (dog 4 sale?) is banned.

anyone seen or used the new mole trap from bell
Matt replied to hound's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
The Talpirid baited worms do work very well, but unfortunately (depending on your viewpoint) we will never get that product in the UK because of our mad pesticide laws. I can't see the new trap taking off with pro trappers - I think the real target market is the householder who wants to DIY. The young lady on the Bell stand at Pestech was Brady Miller. She's ok, but is also a very good cage fighter - so I wouldn't try anything on!!!! -
The only rodenticides now approved for use against rats are 'anti-coagulant' and therefore, vitamin K is the antidote. A surprisingly large quantity of bait needs to be consumed by the average dog for it to have any effect: the problem comes when people do not secure bait blocks - which usually results in bait translocation, or ignore the label instructions and place too much bait at each point. Vets are very keen to sell vitamin K tablets and put pets on drips in 'hospitals' when they think that rat bait has been consumed. The best advice is to monitor the animal carefully and watch

I'm not sure where you got the information that 5-7 grammes of Bromadialone is enough to kill a rat - but it's not true. They will need at least 2, and probably 3 feeds of the bait before they consume a lethal dose. Then there will be 3-7 days before it takes effect and they die. Even then, don't expect to see bodies lying around - they usually die in their burrows. Rats are 'neophobic' which means that they will take some time (usually up to a week, but sometimes a month) before they will enter a plastic box and eat from it. Even then, there is a danger that they will not consume a

Personally, I think they had no intention (or ability) to march. It was all a big publicity stunt, and the media fell for it. The only good thing to come out of it is a ban on this extremist organisation.

If they paid someone to do that, then PLEASE, make sure that the relevant authorities know what has happened. There are far too many cowboy outfits out there who need sorting out. If you want to PM me the details, I can make sure the trade associations know about this incident. I'm just waiting for someone to label me 'grass' now...............
-
Very sad story, and one which should be pinned for all the DIY'ers to see. Please make sure you report this incident to the WCIS, as the more proof they get that rodenticides are being misused in this way, the more chance we will have of getting amateur sales of professional use rodenticides banned. I hope your dog makes a full recovery.

It's not the 'poison' you use, but how you use it that makes the difference. What is the formulation of the bait you've chosen? Is it grain, blocks, or something else? What is the active ingredient and concentration of the bait? How have you placed it? Is it in a box, a tray or just loose on the ground? How long have you been baiting, and how much has been eaten? Have you correctly estimated the size of the population? Have you allowed enough time for the bait to work (most need at least three days after a lethal dose has been consumed)? What is the source of the

Right, before I go any further, I'd like everyone to know that this isn't just one of those 'grand gestures' so popular on THL, and nor am I asking for my account to be deleted. I've been on here for a couple of years, and enjoyed it. I've met some fine folks, learnt some new skills, and aquirred some useful knowledge; but I think I'm due a 'break' from the forum. The reason for posting this is just to say thanks. Thank you to those who I've agreed with, and thank you to those I haven't agreed with. What makes life interesting is the differences in us all; and THL is no different to

'Crawling out of my own arse'? Is that the best you can do?

Who is 'they'? Blacks? Asians? Or just anyone from overseas?

Only 115 votes so far, out of 15000 members. Hardly representative. Even if the majority of THL members say they are going to vote BNP it won't mean that the BNP will be in government. It will however fuel the antis as they will go around telling all who will listen that not only are we cruel, but facists to boot............... You asked the question, and now you dont like the answer,,,,,,,,,,,,,,im enjoying watching you squirm and crap excuses, if you had a backbone you wouldnt be making excuses and if you had a backbone you wouldnt be quivering in your boots what the antis will

sticking up for your boyfriend are you David

You want an airpistol to dispatch rabbits?

Well, yes, I did post this because of what SS posted (several times). I thought some people should know what the guy is like without having to wade through all that BNP crap. Having said that; we do normally have a 'why don't you donate to help' thread each year, and now is as good a time as any....... As for the comment about 'my way or the highway', you obviously haven't read my posts. I'm happy to back down, and have even been known to change my opinion. Several times in the BNP thread I stated that I admired Nick Griffin. So I'm a joke? I hope you are a donator - that's a s

Agreed; but that's not what I asked.......

It's not bull, which you would have seen for yourself if you'd looked closer. Also, here is part of their wiki entry, which I'm sure they would have edited if it was wrong: . Halal slaughter fine, but docking?
