  1. The is so much shit flyig around on this thread its unreal,, good dogs arent bred or born there made,, its what you to with them that makes them hit the grade You cant make chicken salad out of chicken shit partner.
  2. with a little bit of adjustment here and there its the same for me all year round
  3. Me personally, I would rather raise one from a pup but to each his own.
  4. I need to rephrase my first sentence a bit more. There has been some breedings we have done that were extremely tight off of already extremely tight lines that did produce quite a bit of culls but we also got some extremely tight bred critters that were almost perfect from the same breeding.
  5. I'll say it again, I have done this and many other close breedings with absolutley zero ill affects. Do not worry about it one bit, there will be no problems unless there are already problems. If you breed two dogs together and there are eight pups in the litter but only two of them turn out to be great and worthy of breeding then I would put them two together to see what you get. I would also breed the two dogs together that made them again cause two out of eight is a good litter in my opinion. Thats 25% success rate. In breeding battle fowl you would never be able to produce 25% winn
  6. I agree, everytime sombody asks what a fox dog should look like, I think of that dog.
  7. Just staghounds stabs. I have no idea other than that. I assume alot of greyhound a little deerhound here or there years and years ago and maybe even some bulldog but an extremely small portion I would say. Just best to best partner.
  8. Died on the job a good few years ago now Danny This aint got much to do with the topic but partner, this little pup was built alot like that dog. She were gonna be twicer he size at full growth but your gyp there reminded me of her and I sure do miss this pup. She died very young learnin the ropes but I did get to see her take a coon at just a bit over 6 months old. I about shit myself. HAHA!
  9. I dont disagree with you much but I do know that heart and will are great but if they aint got the tools, they just dont have the tools. A 20 inch dog may do fox over where yall are at on the lamp but over here daytime, a fox would just laugh at a 20 inch dog tryin to catch it let alone kill it. 4 or 5 in a lifetime would most likely be out the question let alone 4 or 5 a day and I also dont think size plays much part in how much stick a dog takes. A throat dog is a throat dog no matter the size or breed and if they aint throat dogs then they aint proper huntin dogs. Dont get me wrong, I h
  10. By the looks of them two dogs, I would give a rats ass what size they were. I dont mean this lightly but they seriously look like they gonna be good uns.
  11. :feck: :feck:  That made me laugh. Thanks!
  12. I was born an outlaw and I'll stay one. HAHA!
  13. Nice built dog right there blacknight.
  14. If fox were your game you really should be messin with a bigger type dog but not a big dog. Anything over 28 inches in my opinion is really gonna start screwin you up. Of course yall are talkin about the lamp alot so it may be alot easier to catch a lamped fox but daytime they are slippery little b*****ds. I'd say 26 inches and 65 pounds of determination will screw one down tight.
  15. Stabs, I really like the build on that ?bitch.
  16. I would think a good one would be almost impossible to beat on a fox daytime anyhow. I know nothin of the lampin game.
  17. Just cause a dog may have a fault does not mean it will be automatically doubled up on if you inbreed on it. If inbreeding cannot always guarantee you perfect success then guess what, it aint always gonna guarantee you failure neither. Dont worry about everybody's theories and bullshit. Breed the dogs and cull accordingly and thats that.
  18. There are so many things to consider that its really impossible to say for sure but in my opinion anything over 30 inches is too big for any game. 28 to 30 inches on deer and coyote. 28 and below on anything else in my opinion but no matter the height or the weight, they have to have it all. Speed, endurance, soundness, and brains are very important as well is the way that they run.
  19. 212, that is a sharp lookin little dog right there.
  20. I start all of our pups doubled up on the lamp at 6 months old and they better by God be beatin them old 18 month old dogs to the critter.........after all by 18 months a dog is damn near wore out.
  21. Nice f****n post right there. Truth! Why lie when you can just say it like this.
  22. I know what your saying fella, but they're not slow Right on, I would think they might would be snappy for sure.
