You can sense the real hate and bitterness at times though mate, I suppose that resentment is coming out the pores of deeper personal issues so to speak. It's as though they have an impulse to try and cause misery at the click of a button. Lol

Yeah mate I mentioned it in the OP, I suspect that's what Lucky had on a few occasions when he was supposed to have jacked. Of course I wasn't there so can only go off what the owner said. The fear of a blown dog was always in the back of your head when running a first season dog, it was said to permanent should it happen.

The cheetah knows when to pull up or it will blow a gasket, maybe some dogs won't. Didn't Lucky collapse a few times, it was probably this.

That was probably the condition I mentioned mate as it does have those symptoms, I'm guessing that what a blown dog is then. It's not just a problem in pups though by what I've read, any dog that runs too hot is at risk.

If they did manage to fcuk it up they inadvertently benefited the dog cos it stayed off the track didn't it? Was Lucas mainly campaigned in Ireland?

Cos maybe the lads saying stay still were neutral and wanted a fair course or maybe they were Lucas' opponent?

Not sure which book I read it in, probably a Plummer, I recall reading about risking blowing your dogs if you give them too much stick early on. Now, is there actually such thing as over exertion which permanently damages the lungs? I've read about sighthounds sometimes suffering from a condition called rhabdomyolysis but that usually occurs in regions of high temperature and high humidity. I've heard that a blown dog may be called so because of damage to the diaphragm but has anybody actually seen this.
