  1. Fair point, in theory the coursing breds are just linebred saluki's that have been perfected for our land and quarry. Still when folk keep crossing back in to pure maybe the pures aren't that far behind.
  2. You think it's just because many if not most aren't worked properly meaning those that do work them are in a tight circle? It's just that in theory if adding outside blood sets them back then it's got to be all about work and selection.
  3. Hahahahaha I do apologise, don't be pulling out now mate.
  4. I pay enough tax, you vultures robbed the country blind with your covid payouts, I'm just trying to even the score. Lol
  5. Getting payed to sit at home lad, bliss. ?
  6. Brilliant, no excuses then when you're panting like a greyhound after the first bend. ?
  7. It's called copy and paste lad. ? I'm walking fit, ready to go Bangers. You need to be getting them calves ready for the big walk.
  8. I know I have but it's interesting to me because to some folk it's not black & white like that as they say they can catch in the smaller fields. Isn't the coursing bred just a UK linebred saluki anyway, so it stands to reason that the pace for the smaller land can be found in the right pures, you just have to get the ones bred right.
  9. Lads on here can't agree on wether pures are much cop. Some of the old boys on here who have been involved with some of the top lads and dogs of the past claim they are the real deal but others have had bad experiences with them. Maybe they are really a specialist running dog and need the bigger land to really shine but to me if a coursing bred can excel on the bigger land as well as on the smaller fields it's a no brainer surely?
  10. It's just the connoisseurs getting premenstrual, it won't have a bearing on performance.
  11. I won't at this rate. ? Speaking of pures, some swear by em and others say stay away, I suppose the only way to ever find out if they're worth a carrot is by trying one out. In my view they should be able to catch hares on any field that any other cross can, if not then are they really all that.
  12. I looked into this subject (Brindle in Salukis) and my conclusion is, that despite the fact, that there are three genes which could and can mask the brindle gene kbr, it would be basically impossible to carry the brindle gene hidden for more, than one, or two generations. So, regardless how many old photos exist to show brindle Salukis, or Saluki type dogs in the middle east from 10-50-150 years ago, the brindle gene could only have survived, if it was bred continuously. It is impossible for the gene to reappear in the breed, after10-50-100 years of being dormant. One of the gene, which could m
  13. I think the argument is that if they are not always throwing brindle it won't just lay dormant for years and years to emerge out of nowhere, they are saying that it must have happened relatively recently.
  14. Just had a quick gander, yes, it's thought that brindle entered the gene pool from outside blood and thus should not be allowed. I can see their arguments on one hand but all dog breeds have been created by mixing other breeds, I mean, nothing is ever truly pure. I'm staying off that place, I prefer the raw insults on here. ?
  15. I'll have a look in a bit fella but I presume they are disqualified because they are thought to be impure?
  16. Didn't know that. Are they pures though mate or has foreign blood been added?
  17. With the brindle colouration, don't think saluki come in brindle? Plus the fact that North Africa was a hot point for trade and colonisation.
  18. Going off looks I'd say they don't look like they'd have as much stamina as a saluki.
  19. Do they still use them to hunt over there and have lads ran em here?
  20. They come in brindle as well so I imagine greyhound was introduced at some point.
  21. Isn't it just another type of saluki mate?
  22. Donate it to the dogmanwont nd slop.end charity box so they don't have to keep pretending to lend their mates' dogs anymore. Or you could buy a ten a penny rabbiter and have enough change to feed Africa. ?
