  1. Like a turbo charged pure, proper elegant runner.
  2. Have you seen that Scruffy, she looked a top class dog as well. I've seen that video of a yearling down off Scouser x Tilly, folk were saying she was the best bitch in the country when she was running.
  3. Eh, who mentioned fens? If I were to guess I'd say that land suits dogs with plenty in the tank.
  4. Sounds like it would be a big pain in the arse to do? Talking about logistics, rules, etc. I imagine them spic dogs would add a bit of vigour to our coursing breds.
  5. But that's the same for speed merchants as well, hares do escape those types of dogs in certain areas and places if they are close enough to cover.
  6. Yeah, some horses don't run well on soft going and vice versa, I imagine it's the same with dogs as well. Still, for me, a good dog should catch on all going, as long as it beats the hare on that run that's all you can ask for.
  7. A good dog should catch on any ground even if they prefer certain conditions but I bet a lot of matches have been cancelled or postponed because of running conditions. ?
  8. I'm looking forward to getting one when the right litter pops up, if I can't find anything this year I'll get a pure bitch and take it from there, if I have to breed my own then so be it.
  9. I think the main thing is catching said hare, as anyone knows not all are picked up in short order, as long as they catch does it matter how long it takes?
  10. My collie cross used to yap on occasions, often when the hare was near cover, I think he knew when they were going to escape. I've read some lines though do throw yappers, would hate that tbh.
  11. That's what I'm wondering pal, I've just seen another bitch that looked very good, dog called Scruffy, looked dynamite. One thing though, it was yapping on one of it's runs, that would drive me mad. I've read these two bitches have been the best of the best in recent times, more chance of finding rocking horse shit than getting anything off them I'd say.
  12. Serious chat again, that bitch Tilly looked a very handy dog what happend with her? Has she been producing anything of note?
  13. Wrong part of North Yorkshire moors I'd say? if you were on the Dales you'd be talking.
  14. You on the way to the quarry ain't it, zombied off your tits in excitement., ?
  15. You been feeding the bull frog it in the hope it catches a frozen rabbit? ?
  16. I've told you MC I'll take em out, we will jump in your motor and I'll walk the fields for you. ?
  17. Ran plenty of hares over the years and caught a good share. I've never had an out and out coursing bred dog though which would have been interesting as I just mainly ran hare and roe with the last lurcher I had as he was no good on teeth. I'm looking to get a well bred dog and see what they're all about, I expect them to be light years ahead of a 3/4 collie x greyhound.
  18. Probably more than you and you've got a saluki cross. Third question-What faze are you going through next and what dogs are you going to pass around?
  19. I can see you crossing in to whippet at this rate.
  20. What, you've been lamping, wash your mouth out. You want them dropping the handbrake when a hare gets in cover?
