    They'll be many birds that have been frightened from roosting up. Did you read my last comment about predators will of picked many off that have dropped out of the hedge rows and tree lines. Plus if they've come out of roosting up when we had the wind and rain they'll of died through cold & stress it's common-sense.     You said it there mate risk with dogs. A can't put owt down poison wise. A few dogs local fell ill when game keepers on game bird farm were putting poison down inside rabbits to rid the foxes. But a few local spaniels picked them up. One died other came through after vet treatment. You've to be careful with poison not something a want around with dogs.

    Few years back digger mate a was Green on how to set a Fenn right ie peg it down. Ended up catching a big adult mid way by the tail. To cut the story short the b*****d ran under decking pulling the trap off using the decking to its advantage. Ended up with bottom end of its tail. " A was shocked how it's tail end just came off so easy " , very clever strategy how it's developed to do that. Anyway few months later a caught the same adult in a live trap and shot the b*****d. Lol. That rat had caused me some shit. That one killed my misses yellow female karkariki type parrot that she'd hand rear

    Well caught another male this morning from around my birdroom. Big male this not seen a male like this for a long time. I'm thinking he's come from over the back fields off the allotments from around the chicken houses. Just glad I've knocked him off my worry list around my birdroom and aviary.

    What gets me the price mate. Next to nothing and to look at it. Looks decent quilty even that a know it's not. But looks the part. Showed my 89 year old grandfather it and he was impressed. Took him back to being a youth himself seeing my great grandfather stood there in his shirt & waste jacket with his pocket watch handing out of the pocket.     Do you go looking in hedge and tree bottoms. On new years eve the conifers that are in my back garden starlings normal roost up on a night. That night you could hear the birds moving about and flying out. So your telling me that them birds if on the ground won't get picked off by predators ? The corpses will of been a nice meal for some. Big difference to captive bred birds. The birds smash them selfs up and the wire. Many a night's I used to watch the birds in my bird room on the cctv through night vision mode. Now and then heard some flapping where one of the birds has fallen off the sticks.

    Most of these here in the clip are that I've bred the season just gone. Some lovely hens filled out well feather perfect.

    The Timbrados are coming into condition again singing well. I've bred some great feeders this season nice big birds too.

    Just thought I'd share this the wife bought me for when im on the river bank. Not expensive just something from her to me to show interest in me fishing. I'm sure it's because last year a went and lost my phone down on one of the syndicate lakes .

    How did everyone go on last night with birds with the fireworks. Was dreading this morning having to go out to the birdroom. Thinking there maybe a few off the sticks dead on the floor. It's not just them falling to the floor , this time of the year mice become carnivorous too for energy intake. Eating one another. Anyway every thing was good this morning birds all fine. Had some prick about 4 house's up for a good hour letting off them 1000 shot f***ing things off. Me climbing the walls last night was a understatement lol.
