    If I'd of seen this 10/12 years ago id of travelled up the a1 every day without a doubt. Too many living off mum and dad most of em think there's only one 1 o'clock in the day

    I bred the bitch of mine outta a saluki bull grey dog called Archie and a merlin eve bred coursing bitch ruby they were 110% on anything

    I'd never have a collie bred dog again I had one it was awesome but some nights she wouldn't set off down the lamp if things were but close to hedges I didn't like that where as a quicker dog would of been flat out down the bean and probably bent them out into the field too clever for its own good but would of caught majority of the ones it wouldn't run

    They need to be out 3 days a week with a day's rest in between when they're fit its good for me I graft my balls off all summer and spring to be able to have my days off to get out I had one dog that could kill whatever jumped up in front of him his first season then second season I have him some hard graft 2/3 days a week and was heartless.....then I've had others that will just take whatever you throw at em regular some have it some don't nowadays they go out once a week and are world beaters lol

    Should have I've got the perm to be getting them going on and pals got some perm for when they're ready. Kids are doing my head in already gone be the longest 7 week of my life .... Then it'll be the longest 10 month too I start her lol

    I wouldn't think of it my lad does my nut in for mackerel. "Steak with blood in middle" he loves proper food he can sit and eat a punnet of cherry tomatoes like they're grapes lol

    You get out what you put in I've always said that you wouldn't just feed a kid chicken nuggets and chips all they're life so why is a dog any different feed them right they shine. I've bought coursing dogs in the past that were sold for good money then went downhill I've had em a few week on proper Scran and they're back doing the job they're bred for

    All the lads I know are out working their dogs at the min no litters about ones planned for just after Xmas when his bitch breaks down but ideally want one over the next couple of week so is ready to start next season

    That s how it should be. the bitch I've just lost was out of serious coursing tackle and had her gifted as a pup but could of sold her ten times over but was a pet for the kids as well as a grafter. I remember average lurchers being either free or 100/150 quid but divvy jump on the band wagon and breed shit to shit and get silly money for em
