  1. Nice Hole! Did you get the quarry?
  2. Curious, was the terrier white in colour and bred by Eddie Chapman or David Jones and is he/she now with the Angels? No the dogs is not with the Angels. It would appear it was after a groundhog and couldn't get in far enough as the hog was digging away. Those hogs can fit through some might small holes. If the head fits, etc. By the way, not my dog. No problem with the dog though.
  3. Take her out on a walk near where others are shooting. Start from far off working your way towards them. Have some treats on hand. Let her know things are OK give her some treats as you work your way forward. Try and keep her mind on you and view the guns as background noise. Make her experience around loud noises pleasant. ie Loud noises mean treats, nothing to be scared of.
  4. Great looking dog! I hope your house is big enough
  5. I'll post some pics soon. Does anyone know anyone in the Midwest US with lurchers? Edit to say US would be fine doesn't have to be Midwest.
  6. Sandpaper, spraypaint, then use clear coat spray paint to give it a hard finish. Otherwise it just rubs off.
  7. Any worry with the tunnels caving in?
  8. I have an Irish Terrier who loves running rabbits and has killed a few squirrels. I hope to get her out this season to some decent spots where she can get a good run in on the rabbits. Does anyone use Irish Terrier X's? She has great speed and can really jump. Any ideas on getting her geared up as a draw dog. I've shown her a fresh killed coon but she wasn't very interested. I appreciate all replies. Cheers
  9. I definately think one would need a few after such digging. I would love to see some pics. Cheers
  10. What is one normally hunting to get such depths?
  11. Dang!! That had to take all day and then some. I'd be interested in how they located on that one. Thanks for the reply Cheers
  12. What is the deepest you've ever had to dig for your dog? This past weekend we almost had to do a 10 footer through hard clay. That would have been loads of fun Probably would have wanted to turn the hole into a root cellar. The dog came out after we got down about 2 feet. What kind of soil where you digging in? I'm just getting started in the world of digging so I have nothing impressive to report Cheers
  13. Guys over here do the same thing. It works. Its funny to watch someone try it who doesn't know how though. The guts just start pooching out the  Cheers
  14. Start "Crate Training" you pup immediately if you haven't already. i.e. If your not playing with him or letting him run around outside put him in his crate. The crate is his den. I would feed him in it as well to make it seem like a good place to be. Make sure the crate isn't to BIG. He should have room to turn around and get comfortable but not enough room to go to the bathroom and not be in it. They have natural denning instincts and don't want to be in or around their crap. If it is the correct size he will have to lay in his crap if he craps or pisses his crate. Keep his feedi
  15. Nice dig. Good to see it was rewarding. Cheers
  16. Saline solution will give them a bit more added relief if you flush with it. Cheers
  17. God bless you in your recovery! I'm sure you'll be out and about with the dogs soon. Great attitude. Best of Luck Willy.
  18. Great looking pups! I wish you were in the States. Best of luck. Cheers,
  19. Hey all, Its not a spoof. Though it was found out that it was a domestic hog from a farm in the area that got loose and was running wild. Not quite as threatening as a real feral hog but I sure wouldn't want to wrestle with it. Cheers
  20. Hello all, My patterdale pup is 18 weeks old. He currently weighs 9.5 lbs. Has anyone come up with a rule of thumb, ie your dog will hit maximum height between _ and _ months and weight between _ and _ months? I know to look to his sire and dam but that isn't a sure bet. I'd be thankful for any wisdom you could impart. Clancy
  21. :welcomeani: Sounds like a great situation. Enjoy. Cheers, Clancy
