Just a thought. I have dealt with a lot of abscesses through the years. I have found that if you are confident enough in what you are doing you can lance it where the abscess peaks and drain it that way. Make about a 1/4" to 1/2" long cut with a sterilized razor knife or scapel just deep enough to puncture and squeeze/flush it out, rise it out and fill it with antibiotic ointment letting it heal from the inside out.
Another option is, if you can tell its filled with fluid and don't want to lance it, take a sterile syringe with needle, insert into the abscess and draw out the puss. Th
