  5. Hi Doxhope, I'll deffinately be there, even though it was bad last year ! I've had an offer to be taken to Lowther, but honestly, I prefer the hunt shows, as I follow the hunts, (and have been on a few demonstrations !!). Last year was basicaly a rip off to get in; nothing to see or do; the lurcher show was about the worst I've seen !! So why go ? ; Simply to support a hunt. I would have loved to give some advice or judge, but I will be showing my dogs, and if I was in any way associated with the show and I won anything, the "cliques" tounges would start wagging !!! Yes, there really is such s

  9. i have , and never will , exercise any pup for any length of time , for the simple reason , they're growth plates only need to take a bang , then they are f****d , as we all agree on , pups should be brought along ,SLOWLY i also see that everybody's concept of exercise is different , but lets get one thing straight , dont rush them , it's a hard life being a working lurcher , if they are rushed into work , there life span will be shorter than one that has been given plenty of time , to , MATURE.
  10. are you lot camping , overnight , if so , i'll come for the craic , bring the beers too , might even bring the daughters boyfreind, oh yes and the dogs too , whats the date , jr
  11. each and everyone is different , depends on the size / weight , of the dog or bitch , most dogs are still growing well into there 12 th month , but they differ as to the breeding type , not all pups grow the same , they cant grow up , out , lenght at the same time , thats why and how they mature differently , also it can depend on the feed they are fed , good food , good growth , bad food bad growth

  20. jimmy , it may well be , only the c.i.s.cup, sweet
  21. ok , socks , my reply to the post , ( was my thoughts only , thats what i'd have done) as we are all different , i for one look after my dogs very well , ( too well if the truth be known ) i've had them for well on 29 years , so yes i think i know a little about them ,as i said it's what i'd have done , not every lurcher owner , can notice when their dog is not moving properly, so being cautious is the right thing to do.
  22. any dog , having taken a good thump , should automatically have been retired for the night , it's stupid , to think the dog was ok , ( as your aware your not a vet ) common sense should have prevailed in the situation , im sure you know your dogs very well , most owners do , but the imminent damage , could have been very serious , so being really cautious and retiring for the night should have been ( your only) decision , p.s im glad your dog is ok now , but let that be a lesson to you , never , continue , allways be cautious .
