  1. paddy, im , not really into saluki x dogs , i prefer , collie x greyhound , this bitch has just recently won a marathon race over 1200mtrs around a greyhound track , so really she has lots of stamina, yes i can see the pros and cons , of putting whippet in her , but , nobody knows there dogs better than themselves, and i certainly know all thats good about my bitch , having had the same line for near on 25 yrs , i think it's time to try something new.
  2. mush , i , can see and understand what you are saying , but we , as owners , strive to have the best , do we not , this bitch of mine , has stamina in abundance , and she has the tempermant and drive of a collie , not the greyhound , so it really is an experiment , what im trying to breed , as i said she carries loads of the collie traits , so introducing , whippet blood , to reduce some of the greyhound , is i think , for me , the way forward , possibly not for everyone , but if and when , it happens i would be only to pleased to keep you informed on there progress, but as with all , lurcher
  3. yes , mark , and , mush , i can see where your coming from , but they are predominatly grey hounds just now , dont want to lose any speed , the breeding for me is for the next generation , not this one , then i'll return to a collie x greyhound , as for the stamina , aspect , you train dogs for that , mine trot for around 4>6 miles behind the van regularly, anymore thoughts , yes i'll consider , but right now , it's a mike brown stud dog this bitch , still carries a lot of the collie gene , inside her , so that also had a bearing as to where she went
  4. well , there's a little bit of a strange one, im , going to breed , my dogs similarly to your breed , i must be doing something right , as your dogs seem to be really good specimens , i'll be happy if they turn out as good as yours , mark , but im very happy with what iv'e got just now
  5. the reason i was thinking , along the lines of mikes , stud dogs , is , they're already 7/8TH greyhound x 1/8TH collie , so i really cant put anymore greyhound blood in there , i , toiled with the thought of some , saluki , but there not really me, so it only left me the whippet option , so thats where im going, zap ,that way , i can re-introduce somemore greyhound x collie blood in the next generation
  6. ok , zap , how are you , i was thinking of using one of mike browns , stud dogs , to cover her , if , and when she breaks , what do you think
  7. cheers mark , it's actually the black dog , thats not well , but he seems fine today ,
  8. me too , rest , and hope , thats all i can do , but im going to mate the bitch , when she breaks
  9. ]heres a picture of my 2 dogs , i bred these dog myself so know what there , 7/8 th greyhound x 1/8 th collie this dog has been ill the vet reckons he has kidney failure , but heres hoping he has'nt
  10. thats right , just tell lies , lies ,lies , because if you tell the truth in your reply's , you might end up being banned , like i was for more than a month , either that or dont reply at all
  11. definatley ILLEGAL , dont find much nowaday's , the oldies used to make it years ago , f*****g deadly , my dad , used to make it when we were kids , sold it in pound jars , for more than the price of a salmon , but everyone has his own recipe
  12. may i also take this oppertunity to say what a good day i had at manor lurcher club's show at highgate, not just because i won the marathon race , for the second year , (with my greyhound x collie , teri ) or because we were lucky enough to win a class with her too , but because yesterday i met a very nice couple from derbyshire , while we were there , i had been chatting to ( whip on the chat room ) and we decided to meet one another , i met another very nice couple as well , so all in all we had a very good day , thanks again
  13. at last you've seen sense , mark , i , for one are glad you have decided to stay , i'll look forward to reading your posts with interest , so what if the people on here , who are giving you a hard time , continually keep slagging you off , like i said there just jealous of you , so chin up , mark , and i look forward to keeping in conversation on the chat i also think , i wish we had as manny honest people on here , as you yours in sport dennned
  14. I NOTICE THERE'S NOT A MARATHON RACE THIS YEAR , WILL THERE BE ONE OR NOT , IM COMING FROM SCOTLAND TO SHOW AND HOPEFULLY GET A MARATHON RACE , I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO WIN IT LAST YEAR
  15. looks like you had a profitable night last night mark , there must be a good number of rabbits on the farm ,dogs have done well , considering they have'nt been there before , hope you go and look around for possible dangers while lamping in the dark, during daylight , would be beneficial to you and the dogs, anyway , good luck , ps , i have a 7/8th grey x 1/8 colli for stud if you want 27inch around 72>74lb
  16. never one to not say owt , lets start by congratulating the welsh , far superior to us , it not everyone to blame , but two only that useless twat dan parkes , and the twat that picked him , f*****g frank hadden, he cant get used to picking ,good players , but all the f*****g players who he had at edinburgh , sack him now , and we might not get the wooden spoon, as for dan parkes , not got what it takes at this level , simple as that , chris patterson (and coming from a hawick man ) is forgot more than dan parkes has known , but cant get the position he should have , therefore other players no
  17. im not trying to be clever , but who in there right mind would work a puppy at 4 months old, only some imbicile, for christ sake they are still growing , yes a bithch will mature quicker than dogs , but there growth plates are still open for more growth, the muscles aren't fully matured, and they are certainly not mentally ready, it's a sure fire way to see a pup find an early death , because it most certainly would suffer some sort of irreversible damage to either bone or muscle development, this guy must be a complete plonker , just remember it's better to learn to walk before you can run,
  18. for anyone who does a bad turn too anybody just remember " those who laugh last laugh longest"
  19. got this one mounted 9.5 inch dog caught pre ban
  20. no lurchers then, theres a lot of them in the north east , would it not be worth while adding them to the agenda
  21. i was just thinking , that all show organisers should just to the powers that be , and carry on regardless , surely they would'nt take us to court for showing terriers , jesus christ it beggars belief that they would even think of it , when 2 lads who admitted digging and killing badgers got 200 hrs community service , what would we get for showing terriers , probably detention , with gordon brown
  22. may i take this oppertunity to thank everyone for there help, it looks like all shows in scotland , will be able to cater for terriers with docked tails, before or after the docking ban , its great news as all terrier men here dont have to worry about showing them, its just a pity that there are restrictions in england and wales, just another balls up by this goverment, all we can say to the buggers that have ruined all terrier shows from now on is
  23. great news , you lot , it looks like , all shows by borders area fieldsports , will cater for all terriers docked or not
  24. great news , you lot , it looks like , all shows by borders area fieldsports , will cater for all terriers docked or not
