    I rate rugging them in the winter, About £15 off ebay.. I think as has been said, A heat lamp in a kennel that size would be too much and she cant move away from the heat source, But i do rate heat lamps aswell, Iv got just a plain open wooden dog box ( Its a raised old whelping box) that iv got in the garage with the heat lamp above it, And everytime one of mines does a shift its stays in the garage under the heat lamp till the morning or night if theyve done daywork, Then rubbed down rugged up and back in the kennel....

    Fcuk sake now threats are getting made over Types... Get out and enjoy your dog's, Had 3 rabbits today while trying too ferret, Didnt work and set's are all too high still, But had the best outing of the season with the old bitch she caught two walking round one mixy and one half growing tennis ball size thing and the 3rd was a bolter she scooped up in quick style......     Id just call it what it is.. Collie/Gh/Deer/Gh or if you prefere a Collie/Gh with a splash of DH in it...? And GR them % could be way off its a Deerhound x Collie/Gh the collie could be 1/2 1/4 1/8 1/16 and so on

    Thats what it will be fellah, If you cant zero the beam by twisting the head then its the bulb, If your mates got a lightforce lamp try the bulb in your too see if it corrects itself.....

    Just too add theres frost and then theres frost, Iam talking frozen ground here that you cant push your finger in..... As rule thats what i try and gaugde it on if i cant stick my fingers in the ground then is too hard for them too run on

    Iam along the line's of Giro, When the moon's up ferreting and flushing in the day for me, And if there is a decent frost then no i dont bother really lamping unless the cattle/sheep feilds are alright for a spin if not more ferreting again ratting ect, Iv done it run mine when it was just that bit too hard and its knocked them up for a month/6 wk's for the sake of one night/day

    Start small fellah, Just nip the ends of and then file/sand them down abit, And the quick of the nail with start strinking away from the tip and in a week time do the same again just the tips and file/sand down and just keep on top of it, Road work does help but if like me and your straight from the house too the feilds then they really dont get a chance on the road to wear them down..

    Best off luck with it fellah, Couple of pic's as you go along would be nice too show other lads thats thinking of doing the same thing as you how too go about it... (Kingspan is easyly got if there any building sites near you ask one of the work lads and you'll sort them a good drink out of it, Trust me more than not you'll get it)

    Kingspan and board it out in the inside... As long as it's draught and damp free your sound fellah (P.s i always stick rugs on the dogs when its cold also, Just a thought)
