    the barbour endurance range of trousers are good for keeping out gorse thorns,i use them for beating and when we are out at the foxes really good overtrouser and totally waterproof,i think they retail at about £100 a pair but are worth it

    it seems to have slowed down up here just now,the pike just dont seem interested in any bait no matter how you present it,the perch are ok though had some good ones over the last month

    my best is 28 1/2 she was a lovely fish fin perfect,i also witnessed a 32 from a river in scotland and she was by far the nicest ive seen

    the ones on the field edge seem easier cause the grass roots hold it together better,less fall ins when your walking on them,you should have a good season out there but i know what you mean digging in sand it seems like you take one shovel full out and another falls in,isthere any young ferrets on the go out by you i might be looking for a couple of jills

    how do you find the rabbits bolt out the sand holes,we used to have to dig a few out dont know why they seemed happier facing the ferret than bolting,dont know if they got caught in a stop or what but we dug a fair few

    hiya mate,aye i ysed too but i lost both off mine this year one to old age and one to cancer,i used to ferret a place called hatterseat just beside mennie and do a bit of beating at mennie ,but they have changed the keeper there a few years ago so i havnae been back for a while.is there still as many rabbits in the dunes when we were beating we used to see loads

    the hows things baldie,the top ones 28 1/2,then a 23,two 19s,a 25 and the nicest pike ive ever seen is a 32,its from the river tay the rest are from a highland loch near where i live
