Hi everyone not to sure if this is the right section so I apologise in advance
I have a Barney bred saluki greyhound 14 months old, she's a very chancy bitch and I am really gutted but due to work I am finding myself having to sell her I am gutted about this but don't have any other choice if anyone would be interested pm me thanks
jack
ive got a pup here around the same age I haven't lamped him but what I have done is let him see an older dog catch and let him play with dead bunny 1st time I did it he carried all the round the fields right chuffed about it tail pricked up the lot it all adds up in my eyes
Sounds pretty similar to what I'm doing with him at the moment he's very alert when we are out, give it a few months and I will probably be slipping him with the other dog see how things turn out mate
Just a random topic to keep people interested whilst the season is off, I know different dogs are bred in certain ways to catch different quarry, but what is everyone's favirote, and for what reasons
So does everyone think that maybe now isn't a bad age to start him on some squatters just to see how he gets on, I didn't want him to keep missing and end up yapping ?
He is only 5 months spend time with him training make him carry sit stay take him in livestock break him to it lot of training to do better do it when young get him jumping everything no point caring a step ladder with you in the field training when young. What is the best way to learn jumping would you say start small and gradually get bigger ?

Throw a stick or whatever over the fence doing some retrieving

To be fair he's a very well behaved dog, he's around the 5 month mark he will walk everywhere with me glued to my side with no lead, very well house trained and listens, my missus has a chihuahua and he is trying to be very dominant over it already
I've heard different things from different people about what age to start running the dogs, I was told from 12 months really, but I was also told that bull x take a bit longer to mature can anybody shed any light on the subject thanks
