  1. Fed previous dogs kibble, must be so boring for them, like eating dry shredded wheat every day. Those rib bones in the pic kept her occupied for ages, like watching the dog eat, better than the telly! Even though I don't buy in bulk, I find feeding raw works out cheaper, you just have to keep your eyes open, it costs nothing just to pop your head into a butchers and ask them what they've got that's cheap. I'm a bit of a hypocrite though, tried to get the cat onto raw, but the fussy fecker wouldn't take to it, so gave up!
  2. Gotcha, sounds good. When m y mum sees what I feed the dog, she's like "we used to eat stuffed hearts", can remember my dad eating pigs trotters, tripe, chewing on chicken necks etc (he had a nice shiny coat tho!) guess tastes have changed
  3. Can't argue with that! like button not working at the mo
  4. Used to feed a lot of chicken necks, good for feeding pups, but I rarely see them now, it's easier to get the chicken carcasses, don't know why, dog gets lucky at xmas, turkey neck and the big parsons nose! What are trowts? I think if a dogs getting a good variety of raw, you don't need biscuits, what do others think?
  5. Seem to remember they put his name and picture in the papers ... you'd never live that one down!
  6. The butcher sorts me out usually get about over half pound of those pulls, feed about 200g plus handful steamed kale, spinach etc or raw carrot. In the morning whatever porridge I have left over, sometimes sardines or yoghurt. Chicken pieces, mince, hearts, pulls I feed around 200g portion plus veg. Chicken backs, meaty bones is just by eye, so I guess it all evens out. got a freebie from the butchers, this is tonights ... that's 2 meals and get carrier bags of the bones for free
  7. Wasn't on mine until I was staying in Clare early 90's. we saw some dolphins in the bay, so rushed to the beach and grabbed some surfboards and paddled out, they were quite far out and a group of 3 with a young one came up to us only a few feet away. they stayed for about 20 minutes, what a buzz! The adults were massive, I was really surprised that wild animals with young would come so close. We were on a massive high all night after that (and it wasn't the guiness!). My mate who ii was staying with had a picture of his brother being towed by a pilot whale in dingle bay!
  8. Well that was one sided ... didn't expect anything less really
  9. chicken pulls, £1.35 a lb about 3 meals
  10. Same as with the gun amnesties, the only guns that seem to be given up are old air rifles and firearms from pensioners who probably got them off their granddads, when the plod display them it looks like an episode of the antiques roadshow
  11. Years ago the police had a knife amnesty bin in Brockley, sarf London, handcuffed to the railings outside the police station ... you guessed it, it got nicked
  12. They did Zeus was black, bet the greeks watching it were going mad!
  13. Watched it, but didn't think the battle scenes were up to much, it was like each army had about 15 soldiers! There must be loads of "asylum seekers" and refugees knocking around Greece they could have paid to be extras!
  14. Yeah dufus covers it! Sometimes my mum would look after mine, when she'd try and go home from the park, he'd plant his feet, head down and refuse to move in the middle of the zebra crossing! Have you had any since the one in the picture?
  15. More stubborn than anything. Very clever at getting what they want if it involves comfort or food! My one knew what the commands meant, I think he just chose to ignore them! You reach a compromise, "come here" would get a turn of the head and that "F**K you" look, so that turned into "WAit" and he'd stand still and wait for me to catch up to him . That pup in the last picture was an exception, at 14 weeks he'd hold everything in until he could get outside, he had good recall and would walk to heel off lead - I think he was a freak!
  16. My BT from mid 90's. For some reason he hated hedgehogs, getting the spines out of the back of his mouth was murder!
  17. That's true the way some staffords snouts are getting shorter these days it might be a good thing, to have more of those crosses
  18. Just shows you hanging off buildings for fun when you're not getting paid is a mugs game! We were working in an industrial unit and had to run some cable along the steels supporting the roof, instead of getting a tower or scissor lift for the day, our boss the tight git, bought his tallest steps and a board to put on the rooofrack of his landrover. He said "I wouldn't ask you lads to do something I wouldn't do myself" as he climbed up to the top, too right none of us would have climbed up there, me especially! I was footing the steps, but the wally had forgotten about the suspension of th
  19. you can always seem to tell an ebt cross, those genes for the head must be strong, they always seem to come through! IMO a BT x Stafford gives a better head than some of the BT's you see today, more like the original head before the breeders went downface crazy. The BT I took on in the 90's was a real character and a right gent, a dog i'll never forget, he had some jaw power!
  20. here's the answer to vertigo at 13.05 - "I had a few pints before I climbed up"
  21. Before health and safety went mad, scaffolding in the old days . . .
