Built anything trapping related lately
Wolfdog91 replied to Wolfdog91's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
These stands are a bit on the light side though made em outta 1/4" hot roll but ends up 5/16" is supposed to be the best. But hell for $5 a 20 foot stick for 1/4 hot roll ? make setting these 330s quick and easy though. Just had to add a 10' extension cable to anchor off to something makes a nice little package -

You know this was actually a very common type of stake over here for a time. -

A cheap hobby torch and some solder would probably be the easiest. Can't really think of a way to do it without cutting and joining ? -
Anyone else been building anything trapping related as of late ? Finally braved to cold and but some conibers stands ,and another cage trap from a scrap one. Gotta work on some snare supports next.

So figured y'all might get a laugh out of this. Been on the hunt a scope with a little more power to it for testing reloads . My 3-9's are meh, I mean they work but kinda a pain. Well was trolling eBay and they had a nice refurbished mueller 8-32 ATP tactical on the bidding block. Well I have the 4.5-14 version on my .22lr and loved it for Plinking out past 150yd and for the bidding price I said why not. Was half price basically so dropped my bid and ended up winning ! Now see , Mueller makes kinda long target/ benchrest style scopes and I figured it would be a little on the lengthy sid

Y'all I love a good fixer upper ! So much more rewarding then out of the box for me. Picked up this old Beaman RS2 dual cal from the pawn shop for $50 two months ago. Couldn't tell what was wrong with it off the bat but their $15o-$170 new so picked it up and didn't eat out that week Well got her home shot it over the chrony a few times and with the .22cal barrel these should be pushing 800fps max I was getting 350fps plus alot of dieseling smells. Well off the bad I saw it was missing the breach seal and also the barrel would not stay put with the provided set screw. Three to five

Suprised no one has tried taking up the design and building them. Simple enough compare to oner guns

Yep and can't stand em. Makes it to where you basically have to have a 5-6lbs trigger. Heck it's not uncommon to have them up to 8lbs. No creep either just solid trigger weight. You can polish a few parts to drop it down but you do one just a little too much then it's too fast for and the anvil won't stay up and you won't fire the round unless you slap the trigger. Honestly I prefer the rebounding hammer. Gets rid of like 70% of the guts and just don't cock it till your ready to shoot . Just put it on half cock when not in use

boys ! i finally found one !! lil back story, me and the old man used to talk about getting almost this excact same gun for my first deer rifle back in the day all the time . H&r .223 bull barrel with the thumbhole stock. well they went outta business and the price for these things has shot though the roof. But me and dad agreed if we ever saw one for a decent price we'd snag it for .... reasons ? well walked into the pawn shop today looking for some 30mm rings and saw ole bubba looking over something familiar looking . Listened in and hear ".223" and that distinct pop they make when you

Some nachos but that's about it ? my house is a bit too drafty for me to have any scaly critters. Would love to have a lil corn snake or something though. Idk might just go catch one of the rat snakes living in the shed ? I will say though I had do dang clue sliding turtles went for so much ! When I do turtle removal in the summer I can catch 20-50 this size somtimes out of one pond , make me wonder ??
