Keep at it lad, you seem to have a knack for it anyway. May as well keep your eye in and see if you can go anywhere with it. Great write up, enjoyed reading. Now if I can get my 13yr old daughter out there doing the same, I'll be happy as Larry. Gunna practice with her on paper first but my hopes are to end up hunting.

Corn is over used, Care to explain that? It's pretty much the go to natural bait.

Cubed luncheon meat covered in curry powder and a tiny bit of chili powder. Worked wonders for me. Corn is overused. I reckon they'd go for things like pond skaters but I've no idea how you're gunna feed those in hah

We have a couple within reasonable distance. Will more than likely be easing her in gently in the privacy of our own garden first. Making sure she's safe with it. Can cock and load herself. Figure out her hold etc. Then move onto a range. She loved them. Thank you very much!

I never actually saw that header before. Apt is an understatement haha. Yeah we're gunna pick up some pellets and try and find out what it likes and get her working on her hold and technique. Can't wait til she starts throwing some down range.

Sorry for the double post but David's little care package turned up this morning. Thank you very much bud, she was over the moon haha. This is what happened...

I'm torn between two methods of scaring them off. One is the stare directly into their eyes, while idly gliding my honing stone over my parang. The other is to sit down on the sofa next to them and put my hand on their knee whilst saying "How are you honey?" Both should have the desired effect of scaring them half to death. Both are probably a little dicey in the eyes of the law also hah

I still dont think it does the generosity proper justice but hopefully it goes some way towards showing our gratitude. She is definitely one happy little lady.

How many boxes of kleenex did you get through the nite Mac left? -
It's a little long but I'm sure the time will fly. I was going to edit it down but decided against it and wanted to show her full reaction and subsequent giddiness. Huge thank you Mac! You made her very, very happy. Though I do have earache now hah

Thanks guys, I've already thrown it together, will let it process overnight and will post a link in the morning. I definitely am a twat and from what I've seen, I think it means I'll fit in rather well hah. I'm contemplating just locking her in her bedroom with the thing so she can stare at it and leave me alone! In all seriousness though, she's going to need a lot of prompting in regards to safety, you'll see why in the video. She does pick stuff up quickly but I think in her excitement, she wasn't really listening or thinking. I'm glad it wasn't cocked and/or loaded. Once I get her o

I would have though you would have rushed to put anything up after the incredibly generous help the members have given you here! Frankly, I would like to see, and I can but suspect others much closer may be pleased to see her reaction as well! I did intend to but didn't want to "spam" videos so to speak. No disrespect was intended and I'm hugely appreciative of the help and more than generous gifts. I do hope I haven't upset anyone or made anyone think I'm not grateful. The recording is a reasonably long one that I need to edit and I thought it would be a much better idea to wait for

I'm waiting on something else to appear before I post it, so I don't have to make 2 separate vids but I'm hoping her reaction is worth the wait!

I was thinking the same thing haha Lucky little hunter

You're all amazing. She's gunna be a very happy bunny.

What Do You Get Out Of Hunting / Shooting
Michael J B Lancaster replied to vizlauk's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I've yet to shoot a live target, as I'm still new to shooting. I wouldn't risk a slow painful death for my target, should I fail to dispatch it in the first shot. I'm also completely unsure as to whether I'd hunt for anything other than necessity. It would be great to be skilled enough to rely on it if needed and times were hard and the way the world is going, that may be sooner than we think. I could quite happily dispose of rats on a permission but I probably think I'd be more comfortable putting holes in paper. Maybe that's because I've never been hunting, I don't know. I'd love to give -
You guys are something else... I'm a manly man, at least on the outside, or like to think I am hah but you're gunna make me have to start buying kleenex and romcom DVD's if you carry on. Why are you all so generous? That would be amazing if you could, lucky little bugger she is hah.

Thought I'd tag this onto the end here instead of making a fresh thread... So with this en route to surprise the nipper, obviously we're gunna need to get a slip/case for it for when we take it out. Any suggestions as to what size we'd need? Will any slip do or should we fork out to get something from a "quality" brand? What about a scope? Mac mentioned a Nikko 3-9x40 or something along those lines. We're on a very limited budget for both items, so if you could throw some knowledge or ideas at me in regards what to pick up, that would be great. I'm gunna head over to the buy/sell/t

What ammo are you using? Are those chinese tubes? -
Might need to slip her a few valium after she opens it hah. She's gunna be bouncing around like a nutcase. Actually, does anyone have a small straight jacket?

I'd be wearing those white cloth gloves the antique examiners use to touch that, it looks that good hah. I'd be scared of marking it. Pride of place on the wall rather than out popping bunnies. -

Note to self, don't click on any thread Mac starts without having a box of tissues to hand. Why would they hide that grain?
