But the falcon numbers are still rising while pigeon keepers are still diminishing, I know an Iranian that keeps pigeons he’s the only one I know and I think it’s because it’s some kind of link to home, they are like tumblers and all of them are marked up by the peregrines, like I said it’s a lost battle like many rural past times mate the best years are in the past ?

Think civil war is more likely than any of the big powers kicking off under present circumstances, but who really knows who’s plotting what and when they will feel confident to step into the light ??

The pigeon fanciers in Bristol gave up that fight 20 years ago mate and the falcons won, I know of one person now that keeps pigeons were as it was around half the people I New Years ago, they were ragging nests shooting them and even fitting little firework explosives to the pigeons, but nature always wins, a week seldom goes by these days I don’t see a peregrine but I,m always looking for the dot in the sky circling round and round ?

Maybe sandy or one of the other big vax fans can explain this statistic, because to a simple peasant like me seems the death toll is rising as the vaccine is rolled out, 95% of residents now vaccinated, yet death toll tripled ???

I once woke up in a bed sit with an absolute beer goggles of a bird next to me, thought oh shit it looked a hell of a lot nicer on the end of 10 pints so gathered my belongings and snook out the door phoned my mate and asked him to come and pick me up double QuickTime for the perfect escape, it was only then I realised I had left my keys etc on the bedside cabinet and had to go back and knock the door like a little sheep ,, can I have my keys please,, I don’t have a lot of shame or regrets but think that was one of those moments the world ending would have been a blessing ??

If you ever venture north up the motorway, if you go over the Somerset ,Avon border via the m5 bridge look at the docks on your left there are nearly ten pair in there alone nesting on the roofs of the grain stores and dining on the pigeons they attract, and if your ever in the city taking in the culture go onto castle green in the centre and look across at the old courages building the perigrines nest in the snow box,s on the guttering and are very obliging if you want to take a few pics there will be chicks on show as well soon ??

Serious question but if you get it and recover from it your body will have antibodies to fight it, so would you still be keen on getting the jab as well or would you feel more confident in your own immunity to get you through??

Light pollution makes for round the clock hunting, it’s a very easy environment for peregrines and why they are moving into towns more, plus the wastefulness of us makes it a magnet for shitty pigeons ??

Despite there bright colours I think they are invisible to many people, I used to have a fishing lake back in the 90s in Somerset, and sat there one day chatting to a fisherman, out of the corner of my eye I was watching a kingfisher buzzing back and forth and told matey to which he replied I,ve never seen a kingfisher, I said your pulling my pisser I,ve seen one go by half a dozen times while I’ve been chatting, but he was deadly serious ?not the greatest shot but the one everyone wants a kingfisher fishing off the end of your fishing rod ??

Have seen two so far, one on a small stream I walk along and one on the back of my boat, I assume it’s easier going in the marina when the water levels are high and carrying a lot of coloured flood water so they come in, have a heron sat on the jetty most mornings as well, I have actually even caught a couple of bunny’s sadly mixied up but took the light out the other evening for a little shine and was quite surprised by the number of healthy ones I saw as well, have noticed in the past things go in 7 year cycles for some reason in nature, so hopefully rabbits will be making a comeback soon li
