Great job to the guys who came to save that mans dog. Sounds like if it wasnt for them the dog would of died. Awesome job..all terrier men should be like that even if you dont like someone, it should always be about the dogs..i read the article and i think its a shame that they didnt mention them much. But im sure it wont bother them because at the end of the day they know they right by that mans dog..i just hope that fool that owns the dog goes out right away and buys a collar and learned hos lesson. If you have generation's of blacks and you get something other then blacks then someone put something else in there. Some will call it a throw back. And if thats the case then somebody put something in the blood other then black.

Those fox's is I believe what they call a silver fox. At certain times of year they get lighter in color then get darker. In the states you see them but not very often.

I did start this thread and I all I asked was IF YOU GOT A WHITE DOG OR BLACK AND TAN DOG OUT OF A LITTER AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO LAKELAND OR RUSSELL IN IT WOULD YOU QUESTION YOUR PED.that's what I asked. the point is is that your putting too much emphasis on pedigrees.....dont get me wrong we all care & research them to the end, but work comes first & providing theyre working up to std & reproducing then the odd discoloured pup shouldnt matter! I only care that I have workers of a high standard, I know whats in my dogs for several generations as I've bred them myself, if a chocolate or black and tan pops up now an then so what ???, or you tell me what I should do ?????? what no whites? If there is a russell or Lakeland 5 Gen back in the ped it should not pop up unless it's up front in the ped. I know a guy who had a litter of pits. They were black. They threw blue dogs. In the line of dogs he thought he had never was there a blue dog. But he threw it and the guy he got his dogs from said that's a old throw back. A old throw back my butt..there was staff in that blood. When folks say throw back thats an excuse to why that happen and some are dumb enough to believe that. That's like saying I have a lot of works in my ped startING in the 4 Gen back. Would you buy a pup off that

Color isn't a problem. The problem is when one tells you something isn't in the ped it shouldn't pop up.and when something like that pops up you question the ped. And if you wouldn't then you don't care about what your breeding. some of you say it doesn't matter as long as it works. I agree work comes first but I wanna bred a true ped that isn't gonna give me whites and black and tan lakey color dogs. If I did I would go buy one of those. I wouldn't breed a dog I don't know how it's breed. That should be basic breeding commen sense. You can't reproduce something you know nothing about..some o

If what you say or call a throw back and they produce white dogs then why isn't there any around? And if you had pats why would you call it a Russell type if they came from 2 patS? Why not try and tell people there pats if its exceptable? once your past your 4th Gen good luck bringing that to the front. Exactly, if you believe in your line you shouldn't have to lie. Over here in the state's everyone who owns a pat WiLl tell you they hunt. But as soon as you ask what locators they ask what it is. Then they tell you they don't need one because there dogs bring them out and back to them..over hear 90% that own these types of dogs never even spend time in the woods.but they will breed the crap out of them and tell you they do..Lol..hunting the ground isn't illegal hear so you would think there would be a lot of good ground dogs here but there's not. Americans are to lazy to put the work in.

I DID NO BREEDING AND GOT WHITE DOGS FROM IT,LOL,I was asking what would you think and do if you were told there was no Russell or Lakeland in the blood and you got white dogs or black and tans..I was asking what you guys would do and would you question the breeding? Your missing the whole point, there is no such thing as a pure Patterdale. The whole makeup of every single line of black's has fell, border, bull, Belington and just about anything else that did it's job back in the day yes back in the day, but going back that far it shouldn't pop up TODAY. Like I said before if you had 2 black dogs you were told were pats and bred them.and had white dogs are you gonna go tell everyone you have white pats? I've seen the dogs you post and I highly doubt you would nor bred off it..WOULD YOU CALL THE WHITE PUP THAT CAME FROM YOUR 2 BLACK DOGS A PAT? REALLY WOUL
