  1. Past hour
  2. Of the raptors I’ve had kestrel and buzzards, but been wondering how many more I could get. I tried the app on some noisy sparrowhawks at a nest sight last year but it didn’t recognise them. I reckon peregrine would be straightforward enough, and ospreys. Often see red kites, hen harriers and the odd merlin, but don’t recall hearing them call. Merlin is a good catch though.
  3. I didn't know clubs had academy in other countries he must something charts if he's in teams like that I wasn't knocking him attending the game who wouldn't given the chance how does it impact on his schooling if they have a game midweek away
  4. He supports Real Madrid and he can see the stadium from his house so it was an opportunity not to be missed As I said, I’m not happy about these games being played in Saudi, but if Newcastle got to a final , my grandson would have far more chance seeing it played there than getting a ticket to see it at Wembley ! Yes he plays, he was with PSG Academy in Saudi, but moved to Inter Milan Academy as it’s nearer his home; Cheers.
  5. I could imagine the reaction and answer if I asked for a presseco or was seen walking with one at Upton Park
  6. I bet that was a good experience for him and to see players of that level not knocking it but like you say surely a game like that should be kept in Spain but it shows it's all about profit now does he play himself charts as sports seem to be getting more and more investment over there
  7. Not to mention " Pie & a Presecco " at our gaff ........give me strength ffs !
  8. Sometimes even at that age you can just see it like when Beckham came here on loan they just have that something we had Harrison Armstrong on loan from everyone he's the same you can just see it he looks like he has all the time in the world on the ball we have a lad from villa on loan he's another I think will be a big name
  9. My grandson went to the recent Real Madrid v Athletico Madrid Spanish Cup semi final in Saudi Arabia. Less than £20 for a ticket, 58,000 full house, pre game show, half time show and post game show. No fan segregation and no trouble. Shirts and memorabilia at almost give away prices; Im not really in favour of games being played in Saudi as it restricts real home fans from attending, but if the success of this game is anything to go by, I can see it happening more often. Cheers.
  10. I'm not surprised I have bumped in to a few old mates at non league most say how it's not the same now or others have got involved in park football it's a sign of times now I think a lot of lads up and down the country feel the same that's why non league attendance is growing as quickly as it is
  11. Leaving with a few minutes to go in a stinker of a game to beat the rush i kind of get....but im talking about fans going in for a pint at half time and not coming back out again .....they,re literally singing the songs, getting an atmosphere going while watching the game in a pub inside the stadium.....whats that all about.
  12. Out of the little thumbs up things boys, but good chat and I agree with all of it.
  13. Again I agree funny you mentioned pie and a brew my mate sent me a load of pictures of all the different foods on offer at different grounds spuds filled with all sorts of things currys all sorts of shite what is that really about pie or a burger and a stewed cup of tea or a coffee was all I remember being served at most grounds not now it seems
  14. Its funny i went to watch my little local club play away to Redbridge last week as i didnt fancy going right up to Burnley to watch that poxy West Ham lot !........i must have had at least 5 taps on the shoulder from football pals i havent seen in ages who no longer go to West Ham and follow Redbridge instead.....as you say a lot of good lads have ditched top level footie now.
  15. Today
  16. Yeah I never get it if we had a night game away sometimes we wouldn't get home till gone midnight or later and up for work at 5 or sitting in a open stand in sleet and rain in Hartlepool on a Tuesday night we always stayed till the end regardless and supported the team but if we got a big cup draw at home all these feckers that only turned up for big games would be snapping all tickets up and lads like me could miss out then they would say I'm home and away regular feck off lying
  17. Thats it get your Moyes dig in early ....no its a fair point mate i make you right.....he probably needed better players around him to see the best of him or else like you say he's constantly fighting fires......the skilled tradesman shouldnt make the tea kind of thing i get you. Just out of interest mate my pal sent me this the other day when i said our players just aint good enough for the premier league. This was our starting line up during the 2003 season...........and we got relegated !....scarey innit
  18. I think it’s one of the main draws of non league, it’s proper football in every sense of the word. You can smell the grass, it’s very informal, you can have a tea and a pie and a decent chat with fans around you, it’s gritty on the pitch, no silly VAR, ordinary oiks prices, few quid in the raffle…..I love all that. League of Ireland is pretty similar except the fans are gonks ! lol But it has a very non league feel about it.
  19. I agree who want to stay with a beer near toilets stinking of piss instead of being out in the stands yes with out a doubt fans have changed for the worst I mainly did lower league games div 2/3/4 but even with 6 or 7000 fans in the ground they would beat theses new 60 000 plus stadiums for atmosphere and like you know you got to know most of the faces as they were the usual ones to attend now it's all that's changed for these new breed of fans
  20. My last game at Upton Park was a Tuesday night cup game against Everton, when Adrian scored in the penalty shoot out….the tubes were f****d when we came out and me and my lad who was 7 at the time had to walk to Barking Station ! I didn’t see one person leave that game even though it ran over and the whisper was going round the station was closed. Irrelevant I know but your post bought back that memory.
  21. I watched him against Cheltenham in like an FA cup game or something years ago, he was about 18?…..I said then he is going to be one of the great players and I stick by that. He would be a god in Italy !
  22. Without going all sentimental over Upton Park one thing that has really struck me since being in this new ground is the amount of " fans " watching the game on tellies in the concourses....." well i wanted a beer and just stayed here " they say......well why bother coming then stay at home and watch it with a beer.....its a terrible look seeing fans get out of their seats before the game ends ive never done it and never will....and it never happened much at Upton Park because the concourses were pissy smelly shitholes nobody would watch telly in !.....people dont go to boxing and leave in the
  23. I think Declan Rice as been there best signing for a long time were moyse had him more restricted arteta has given him that freedom to push forward more and he has a goal or two in him that young lad that came in at the back last night had another good game and that was a good tackle at the end to stop brentford scoring
  24. Not rambling at all chief, I think all that is on the money. As far as Declan is concerned, I think we always knew this is what he should have been allowed to do all along, that he had this in his game. Just my opinion, but we wasted him at our club, mostly by just having him sit and fight fires but more criminally because we never went and built a team around him…….thats the story of us though isn’t it mate, Cole, Carrick, Lampard, Defoe, Ferdinand…it’s what we do.
  25. I think boro were hasty getting rid of carrick he got them to wembley twice in two seasons I think it was and that's despite them selling his best players constantly I think utd will go for a big name at the end of the season and thank him for his service I agree with you on arsenal I think win or lose they will stick with arteta as they have invested to much time and money in to his ideas a young manager I mentioned a good while back who took over delovopment at city were he was highly regarded is top of league 1 with cardiff playing good football he could be a name for the future
  26. Always that one pass too many even Declan was guilty of it last night......his game has certainly come on though mate wouldnt you agree.....powerful running with the ball reminds me a bit of Gerrard the way he covers the ground if thats not an England captain of the future i dont know what is......but im not convinced they have the forward threat real top clubs must have as you say Saka is like a busted flush now and that Gykores whatever his name is,not sure if he can really make things happen.....Trossard is a tricky little player but im surprised they dont start more games with Martinelli h
