I've a fairly new berlingo van have to pay commercial light goods tax.   If it was a car it woukd be £35 to tax makes me sick lol

If you go vauxhall go for 1.7 ,the 1.3 are wank

Vauxhall combo 1.7 Dti or the newer 1.7 Cdti! Both the 1.7's are Isuzu engines where the 1.3's are fiat...can pick up tidy ones for around £1500 so well within you're budget ??   Astros are a pain i

Estate better road tax..

I like a van - easier to keep clean..

I'd go for Astra van on a 2k budget..

You coukd strike lucky and get a 4×4 on that money but their in that stage of life of needing stuff, unless someone fettled it..

Christ knows then, do you use it for work? I know if they have Windows classed as a car so they are cheaper on tolls etc. My van is cheaper to tax then me motor and its works so pressume they have pay commercial if there is a difference that is.

Was 1.3 turbo diesel.

You'll get higher milage ones for 2k some folk rate 1.7 engine better..

Get some cheaper 05/06 transit connects.

Gumtree has plenty cheap moters it's mind feild though lol .

  • 2 weeks later...

I've got a Peugeot partner escapade just now 2.0hdi engine which is relatively bulletproof, it sits slightly higher than standard partner and has limited slip diff which means it's not too shabby up tracks etc, put £25 fuel in last Friday, to and fro to work 6.6miles each way plus 2 nights lamping, and it's dropped 1 bar in fuel lol
