vfr400boy 3,120 Posted September 10, 2014 Report Share Posted September 10, 2014 Yestaday I found a lump of red mites about as big as a 50p I have never had mites before , I spray my birds ones a month with columbine spray , wats the best way to get rid and keep um out ? Raymond 618 Posted September 11, 2014 Report Share Posted September 11, 2014 Didnt think I had red mite.At the end of the breeding season I dose my cages and birds before painting my cages. Well I gave poultry shield a go. As a sign of red mite the water turns green,so in cages I didnt think I had mites in when I sprayed them the water turned green as an indicator. In the future weather I see mites or not I will give parts of the cages a quick spray to see if the water turns green.Hopefull it doesnt turn green. It kills the mites aswell. Mr Tibbs 14 Posted September 13, 2014 Report Share Posted September 13, 2014 Best thing to use is diesel, its got a good residual that can help stop them coming back as it gets in all the cracks and places red mite like to hide better then other products.
