Didnt think I had red mite.At the end of the breeding season I dose my cages and birds before painting my cages. Well I gave poultry shield a go. As a sign of red mite the water turns green,so in cages I didnt think I had mites in when I sprayed them the water turned green as an indicator. In the future weather I see mites or not I will give parts of the cages a quick spray to see if the water turns green.Hopefull it doesnt turn green. It kills the mites aswell.

Best thing to use is diesel, its got a good residual that can help stop them coming back as it gets in all the cracks and places red mite like to hide better then other products. Can taint the eggs a bit so don't use around your nest boxes.
