weg 0 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Share Posted April 28, 2009 been giving it some thought lately about people who peddal puppies ,i dont agree with it one bit and it seems that there is also a lot of people on thl that dont agree with it as well,now i have a question this is just for peoples opinions it is not aimed at anyone in particular ,but why is it that selling working dogs for money is wrong and everyone jumps on the band wagon and slags off the person that is selling the puppies but someone breeding birds of prey for finacial gain no one slags them off and it seems that this is ok for them to do this ? like i say just want peoples thoughts and opinions on this Quote Link to post Share on other sites
gnasher16 29,664 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Share Posted April 28, 2009 Its a fair point i suppose but giving it a few minutes thought my opinion would be that birds of prey is a far more specialist field than selling working pups.....almost anyone could buy a working pup without really giving it much thought.....but im not sure many people would buy a bird of prey without giving it at least a little serious thought......myself i seriously contemplated a bird a few years ago but quickly realised i had neither the time or knowledge to really dedicate myself to one......now had that been a pup i may have chanced it as a pup is a little less scarey than a bird of prey when it comes to housing feeding and general care......a while down the line i may have had to get rid of that pup........hence in my opinion a puppy peddlar has a far bigger market and far more chance of their product getting into the wrong hands than a bird of prey breeder whos customer is i suppose more select for want of a better word....... woz 260 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Share Posted April 28, 2009 too many peddlers flood the market with a load of shit untested stuff. get yourself up the auctions.....the horse world is packed with shite...bull calfs are mostly shite aswell.. i feel that there isnt many lurcher type pups in the right hands that wont become good pot fillers on the lamp...the biggest problem is novice's and idiots buying pups not training them and reading all the bullshit about lads getting 100 rabbits a night then sacking the dog because its shite and blaming the breeder...look at what dog won the lamping comp....it was some unknown rescue dog..for all the snobbery, super star breeder's and pre madoners that breed shite but because they have a name its ok for them to sell.....
