stubby 175 Posted April 25, 2009 Report Share Posted April 25, 2009 I'd ferreted a new permission a fortnight ago, with my daughter alix, more of a show your face type day, when Id also spoken to the landowner about their rat problem, anyway had decided a return visit was needed, before the undergrowth got too bad, asked ferreter216 and richie from here to give me a hand, although the weather looked a bit iffy this morning, and it was pi$$ing down where richie lives, we met up as planned at the permission, and it was glorious weather richie was on hand with the camera, so Im sure were get pictures added later, smart my missus JRT came along to help, and got her first rabbit unaided, only a small one, but still a rabbit, jack as always was a devil with the shovel, as we had a couple of digs, Id offered to smoke the rats out from under a stable block, and the owner had offerd to pay, Id refused payment, but asked that we all get a cold drink later in the day and that she hand out my buisness cards, to all her "horsey chums" which she was over the moon with, and was lucky I'd said that, because no rats were found to be at home, whilst ferreting one section of hedgerow, a dog walker had asked for my card/number, as he too had a few large warrens needing dealing with, on describing him to the lady, turns out he's the nextdoor farmer we ended the day, with a mixure of large and small rabbits, and a very happy customer, who's more than happy for us to return in the autumn and although there probably wont be any pictures of it, had a laugh watching richie milking a bunny I'll add, this forum is a great place to give hunting events, give advice/learn new stuff, but the best thing, is making new mates, who are 100%, cheers for the help today guys Quote Link to post
