dytkos 17,927
My old lurcher bitch (8+) had been limping on her front right leg for a few days. I gave her Arnica and rested her up for few days. After a week she's worse not better so I took her to the vets. Left her there for an Xray, got a call to come up later to discuss, she's got cancer in her leg. 4 options, Have her leg amputated and that will give her "several months of pain relief", or "take a course of expensive, non guaranteed specialist treatment in Bristol" or "strap her up when you take her out and give her high strength pain kllers daily for when her leg disintegrates (soon)" or "have her put to sleep" The vet said this a bt more sympathetically than I have but you get the jist, I'm GUTTED Quote Link to post

dytkos 17,927
Unfortunately the joint is full of it and the vet says it could smash anytime and has probably been there for several months. She has been taking Previcox for over a year to ease the pain of her arthritis and this has probably masked the pain as weel but it has now become too much and she hardly puts her foot down now. Have booked her in for the needle on Monday afternoon. Gonna spend the weekend with her first. Thanks for all replies guys. D. Quote Link to post
collie/grey 238
So sorry to hear that, how horrible, very hard for you but the dogs interest has to come first. Hope you have a good last weekend for her. Quote Link to post
