smasher 1,055
Just a quick question to the lads who regularly shoot foxes out to 200yards and beyond on the lamp, what mag do you set your scope at,or do you crank it up for these shoots,i know the clarity of the scope has a lot to do with it,but they do seem a small target at 200-300 yards at 8x,and going over the 8x you start to loose some of the clarity, just trying to educate myself a bit, cheers in advance for your replies Quote Link to post
SNAP SHOT 194
clarity of the scope is the overriding issue for a start to shoot at distance under a lamp...... 200 yards anywhere from 12 up depending on time i normally keep it set on 12 for that range 300 your talking 16 power up to my max of 20...... you should have no problems really at 200 ................... jamie g 17
leave my zeiss on 12 mag if you have it two high you will cut your field of view down and you allso see yourself shaking when its on full mag. Quote Link to post
Mr_Logic 5
I've got a little 3-9 Bushnell on my 223 at the moment, fine crosshair which helped, but 9x was OK for a 200+ fox the other night, no problems there at all. Quote Link to post
dicehorn 38
My NXS is 5.5 - 22 but for shots out to 300 yards using amber filter light I normally keep the magnification on about 8 Quote Link to post
