the memory i always look back on is when i was about 7, and was out ferreting with my dad and his dogs there was a nice covering of snow and it was absoloutly freezing, and i fell in a stream as soon as i got there  so instead of going home my dad took me to the farm house and they dryed me down put me in smelly old farmers clothes  then we went back out to do the ferreting and that day was the first time i caught a black rabbit in fact we caught 4 and they all came out the same sett. cant remember the final tally for the day but remember that stream and the farmers clothes like it was yesterday that was 19yr ago :victory:

One of the best memories I have is of my Lurcher Scooby fenomenal would be a huge understatement,we had looked for a bitch for him to cover for ages he was that well reguarded by everyone ho seen him work that all his pups were booked well in advance, done a rat job for a mate of a mate, cracking greyhound kennels overflowing with top class greyhounds he had lost two to leptospirosis before he had contacted me anyway cut a long story short sorted his rat problem out,and we struck a deal any of his good bitches finish on the track,I could have the use of her for a litter.Three months later arrived Sandy a top irish bred bitch whos record was very impressive and she had tremendous nature and temprement, barring a back injury sustained with a track post, anyway Scooby took a shine straight away a month later she broke down, thirteen pups like shelling peas, what a tremendous mother, when they were six weeks old, they were playing havoc with her so we decided to give her a break take her out with us lamping,We went to a place I had which had an abundance of everything, the first hare we ran,we had walked at least a mile through fields before, the hare got up I am holding sandy on the lead she seen the other dog running the hare she immedeatly snapped her collar and took of bearing in mind this a bitch who had just finished on the track back problem and six weeks prior had thirteen pups, not to worry first hare in the bag,not a sign of any injury, but she had injured the other bitch when knocking it out of the way,to take the hare, next field three hares it was agreed to try her and if the course was to long to knock the light out,no worries the hare was up and running but her turn of speed was incredible. We took her to a good greyhound vet the next day for his opinion and he put it down to the rest and nights under the infa red lamp with the pups she resumed her racing career, and went on to win another nine races.

what has been the most memorable day or night out with the dogs past or present come on we all have a single time we think back to love to hear off some of the older guys on this :victory:

One night myself and Joe, we were doing the water on this river, we had a couple of salmon, and three fresh run sea trout, and I knew were there was an old slaughter house, ((( it got closed down due to the new Laws brought in from europe)) I said come on we will give the dog arun on those rabbits on the wee field next to the slaughter house, so I am walking around the back of the building, the dog was already working, and not looking were i was going I walked straight into an open Sceptic tank, down I went in to the most rotten, stinken, foul smelling rat polluted, sludge and shite, you could ever imagine, Lucky I got out of that Pit, as quick as I fell in, I made back for the river, which was a good 800yards away I stripped jumped in and tried to wash the best I could, But I had to drive a good 40 miles to home only in my underpants, the stink of that shite lingered in my nostrils for days on end,

I was lucky it was in the month of july, and i was very lucky nothing happened to my health, and joe was laughing all the way home + he told everybody

how i fell into the sceptic tank, I was a A VERY LUCKY LAD, I was only 24 and fit as a butchers dog, eh they were the days,
