skycat 6,174
The second one, wearing the collar, is from the same litter as mine: the bloke who had her is working away a lot and felt he couldn't give her the time she needed so he brought her over to me. She is lighter built than mine but shows every inch as much hunting instinct. I didn't really want two, and although she is coming on really well I do feel that she would benefit from more one to one attention as she is a much more submissive nature than her sister and tends to be a bit in Dill's shadow, though she's happy with her place in the pack: actually a damn sight easier to train as she isn't continually challenging me! LOL Quote Link to post

skycat 6,174
big lakelands , saw afew over in the usa working thye hunted with coyote hounds nice dogs and had a good nose and not to aggresive Having had and worked Lakelands in the past I would say that these Airedales are a long way from being a big Lakeland. Trainability, responsiveness, intelligence etc: on a par with a really good Collie. Mine are retrieving obsessed, work cover like Spaniels on steroids LOL: if they were bigger I'm sure they would still have a place in any of the forces today: that is one of the reasons GSDs took over from them in the past. People also use them as bird dogs in the States, love water, mine will hold a point on birds even at this age, but go straight in on rabbits: interesting difference. Some sources say that Setter and Pointer went into the mix when the Airedale was created, as well as Collie. I can believe it. Quote Link to post
Dan Edwards 1,134
Hey bluecollar. Is that the littermate to my gyp that I sent out there to yall? If so, he is still as racey as ever. My gyp is really racey now too and she might be one of the finest pups I have ever raised in my life. Quote Link to post
