Got back from hexham sale yesterday were i went to bid for a walking stick with lurcher head, which i didnt get cos someone stole it before the sale,to find that the river derwent were i live has burst its banks and my allotment is under three and a half foot of water, the police and firemen wouldnt go across to get my chickens and ferret cos of the water going to fast, looking across from the other side of the river i can see some stuff bobbing about insice so i think the ferret hutch will have been swept over,i cant see the chicken hut as its at the back so im keeping my fingers crossed,to make matters worse the police were saying that four foot of water might have to be let out of the derwent resovoir, luckily it didnt happen last night but if more rain comes down they might have to do it today.

I managed to get the ferret out and put it in with the nephews, but that will be a temporary measure if anyone wants a sandy hob with black eyes you can have it,ive also managed to get in and give the hens some mash but again because of the state of the place they will have to go aswell they arent no fancy breed but i get an egg each of the two hens everyday and there is a cockerel and a young hen from this years clutch if any one wants them, all free as its going to be quite awhile until i can get it looking normal again.
