andy s410c 63 Posted August 24, 2008 Report Share Posted August 24, 2008 Left the house at 11am in the rain i've just had enough of letting the weather keep me away from my shoot so i said F K IT,IM GOING REGARDLESS.Arrived at the top quarry midday fresh breeze,sunny but with some dark cloud The undergrowth along the quarry wall was taller than me so i headed of into the small woods for a stalk.As i entered the woods i could hear a woodie cooing away after a good scan of the tree tops i picked it out bobbing around on a branch 25yds or so.I steadied meself, got the crosshairs on it & following the bobs let the shot off,loud whack off the branch woodie gone.... After a bit of self loathing i got into the middle of the wood & eased meself upto the watering hole,1 rabbit sitting tight behind a tree stump,head shot connects,in the bag you go my son Feeling more confident & happy i headed up to the top of the wood & managed to bag 1 more with a nice headshot.I went down into the bottom of the quarry to the sheep shelter to wait to see if any coney were on the side of the quarry wall but after a hour of being bitten by midges i called it a day for some reason the coney just did'nt seem to be around & when they were ,they were out of range & i did'nt have enough stalking cover . Anyway i was happy just to get out & get the ferts some fresh rabbit Quote Link to post
