Just sourced some carcase!

Just been to the local butchers, to see if they had any chicken carcase. The lad behind the desk went into the back room, asked his gaffer who then came out to see if I was being serious! I told him that it was for the ferrets, and he went back into the back room to get me some, and I heard him muttering something along the lines of, 'What's wrong with cat food?!'

 

I think he must have thought I was a tight ass or something, and wanted something for nothing. He was amazed when I offered him money, and he just beckoned me to put something in the charity box on the counter.

They said I can go back and get more whenever I want, which is brilliant!

 

The thing is, ferrets used to be popular here about 20 years ago, and all the old ideas & methods are still very much imprinted on the older generation, and the young aren't interested.

My butchers really good i have neck of lamb & all sorts off bits regular now & he dont charge me much really

Some butchers are great others wouldn't give you the smell off there sh*t you must have one of the better ones mate

went to 4 butches the other day 3 told us to come back either every day or every friday so we'll do just that me and 3 mates will be haveing the food off them between 15/20 dogs so hopefully all scraps add up at the end of the week and feed all the dogs for a few days

the main butcher that i sell my rabbits to lets me have whatever he is throwing, bones meat/chicken carcasses after they have taken the breasts/wings/legs off....butchers have to pay for waste removal/disposal.......i see it as part of the deal on top of the cash for the bunnies

I aked mine once.He looked at me as if i had horns growing out my head.He's a misrable fat pie anyway.

feed my dogs off the beef offcuts my butcher gives me .. he also throws in any bones i want .........
