FOXHUNTER 5,021
The weekend saw me and David out stalking again. 7.30PM we set off stalking up a gorse covered valley , we spied a doe to start with just casually going about her business. Then as we meandered through the gorse a buck appeared from nowhere just walking behind the bush in front of us, I crept around and he never even knew what happened , good start to the evening we had only been out 1/2 an hour. We continued up the valley to lie and watch from a good vantage point . On arrival I spied a nice 6 pointer and a doe out in the valley below, David took this buck at approx 250yards with another good shot This is the view where he took the shot from , buck was in the bottom behind gorse bush in middle of pic.......... As we were heading back I spied a fox which I thought was a vixen but turned out to be 1st cub of this year ... Not a bad couple of hours 2 bucks and a fox !! Out 1st light in the morning saw 4 does but no bucks , also saw a couple of foxes but never managed any. Roll on the rut !!! Quote Link to post
