Simoman 110
Eye, saw a couple at Chatsworth show years ago. I was just having a beer and reading through the old lurcher yearbooks (not watching I'd do anything final....honest) and wondered if they were still around...........One of the photos shows a dog that looks like a pure collie. Simoman 110
I think it was Dave Mckie who bred lurchers just for show. David James dogs were supposed to be good dogs for daytime smoochers, work cover, use nose etc Quote Link to post

I#ve got two Hancock's 3/4 grey 1/4 collie, My fawn bitch 10yrs old now but hard as nails on charlie boy...my other is a blue merle bitch who is 2.1/2yrs and now starting to show a bit of promise. I would use Hancock again and think he gets a raw deal from the bull x merchants. Dont think it matters that much if his dogs are tested or not it's how you enter your own that matters. He just provides the clay you have to sculpt the dog into what you want. Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Please lets not let this thread get into a Hancock debate, thats not what i'm interested in, just David James bred lines............ Quote Link to post
breeze 1,386
Simoman ...... The 2 Collie type bitches that I keep have D. James's breeding in them. They are not world beater's but have served me well enough over the past few year's, mainly for rabbiting day and night Purdey Jewell Quote Link to post
