cumbria to cornwall

Recommended Posts

Going down to cornwall in july. I know its just the M6 on to the M5 then the A30..... But what are the worst areas for traffic, and what time should i get by there?

Im setting off at midnight, so i will pass birmingham before the rush hour, but what other busy places should i aim to get past before rush hour?

cheers

took 11 hours from south manchester last time i went to newquay :(

got stuck at a junction on dartmoor right behind a big smash, had to wait for them to be cut out, airlifted to hospital and the road to be cleared, then had to make a statement to officer dibble, was a bloody hot day to

I have just come back fron Weymouth and I borrowed my son's sat nav (tom tom £100) it was fantastic it got me there and back with over 560 miles not looking at the map. It also tells you when speed cameras are coming up so that would have saved me at least two fines. Even I could set it.

Worth every penny.

Got to agree with the above, I travel up and down the country from Hereford to Carlisle and would'nt be without one as they definately take the stress out of driving.

A30 at Temple on Bodmin Moor can be a bit of a b*****d, especially on Saturdays, as can be Carland Cross to Chiverton roundabout in "the season" Good luck! Cheers D.

PS. pm me if your near Bodmin Moor.
