mr darcy why dont you write about your time down portsmouth when you wouldnt even get scoob out of the truck :haha:

Sounds a very sensible option to take,..especialy when on strange ground... ;)

I've heard that they don't take any prisoners down there.... ;););)

i did run the dog but he became a little lame when running on the hard chalky ground, i have wrote a truthful report in the next book highlighting scoobys lameness, not that i have to prove anything at all, but i try to be as truthful as possible.this is text taken froma tiny portion of the book highlighting what i thought of those fields.....

"One thing that struck me was the seriously hard ground underfoot. Sharp, hard flints and lumps of chalk littered the surface, so much so that it appeared there was more flint than soil! Just how the farmers grow anything is beyond me. Having seen the terrain I now realised why the dog lads in that area needed tough feet on their dogs, and the dogs must possess a solid build rather than be a speed machine. I had seen stoney ground before but none as severe as that. Those stoney Hampshire fields are a lurchers worst nightmare. "

FOXY, i am still awaiting your reply, i am very interested as to who has been speaking derogatory of my visit. many thanks

run my dog down portsmouth!!! quite a few times no worse injuries than running him in the parks

if the fellah in portsmouth would run hes dog on the field so would i!! after all he wouldnt want hes dog laid up either, my personal opinion is that if you take your dog out for the night then use :good: it

Iv ran these type of fields for a few years and its the worst type of ground you can run IMO .I have seen these fields retire good coursing dogs and i mean good dogs and anyone who came out with us who after seeing the flint which is razor sharp ,[you could feel it cutting into your wellies ]said they didnt want to run there dogs on it then i personely think they made a good decision.

and i did.....until he came unstuck on the hard ground. You dont honestly think i would travel all that way and not run him do you>????? once my dog has smashed his toes and has a swollen wrist i refrain from further runs. On my way down to portsmouth i did a detour to bedfordshire and had some great runs on the chinese too, then went to essex and then to portsmouth. Shame the fields were just too hard for him......

im still waiting for FOXY's reply too..seems like someones been making little stories up i guess :icon_eek:

For several years I 'toured' the UK hunting with everyone that I thought had something to offer, wherebeit, good land to walk over,.good dogs to see in action,.or just great experience to learn and benifit from.

I'm a slow learner,..and a bit of a soft touch :D ...so,.it took me a long time to learn my lessons..

Basicaly,..there are an awful lot of 'users' out there..Guys that will say one thing to your face , and another behind your back. And even if you own a good sort of dog, be it a terrier or a running dog, they will frequently bad mouth you. Its no good saying that 'you all saw my dogs doing the business',.because it counts for nothing in the eyes and minds of such folk.

These people will always shit on you, they just can't help themselves.

Today,.I mostly walk alone. Its not much fun , because I genuinely like a laugh and a drink, but I don't have the temperament to mix in with fellahs that are insincere or are total liars.

Whats the point ? There is no profit in it ;)

My advice to anyone who gets upset by such unfair treatment is to get fecking used to it, or choose your company very carefuly..'Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer'.... ;)

All the best to all genuine hunters,...ChalkWarren.... ;)

well i have to agree with your sentiments a little. I had a great laugh that evening with the two guys who generously took me out on their land. I liked their dogs and we had a good craic. Someone has been telling porkies though about my dog and i would like to know the full tale as to what allegded to have happened. Because i am totally honest with the chain of events i have nothing to hide as the truth has been told from my side.

FOXY, you are still quiet , why not answer my posts. i see you were on here at 1.09 this afternoon so you have obviously read it so come on mate, dont be shy  tell everyone what you know happened that night as i must have had a mental block.....

someones telling lies.... :D:D:D:D
