COMPO 54
My wife went away with her sisters on Friday (long weekend in Mallorca) and is due to return this evening about 9pm Anyway that meant i am currently the sole carer/housecleaner/dog feeder etc.....and i have thoroughly enjoyed having so much time just me and the kids! The two year old woke up crying last night and was crying for "Daddy"....rather than her Mam! Anyway to all those who are single parents full time you have my respect, it is hard, but now and again good fun to just be alone with your kids!
lurchergrrl 1,441
Lovely to hear about you fellas enjoying your kids Not something we hear enough of if you ask me. Anyone want to switch places with me - 2 1/2 year old twins and a 4 year old. Doing it on my own 24/7 sometimes takes the fun out of it
lurchergrrl 1,441
It was great when it was just my son .... add two more to the mix and it gets trying at times Still, they're only little once and I chose to stay home with them - and most of the time it's good. Some days, tho, I'd rather set my hair on fire than stop in with them all day

When i was a teenager i was a little sod, i once set fire to a girls hair on the school bus and also saw my late nanna set fire to her hair when she bent into the oven, both times i hurt my sides laughing that much!! Rabbithunter 456
i got with a girl, whi has two kids, their father didnt want to know. I treat them as my own, and like to spend time with them whenever i can. Even taking them out with me with the dogs. They enjoy the countryside & learning things about nature & wildlife, rabbit runs through hedges, fences, deer runs, animal footprints.... etc........ and i enjoy teaching them

Compo, one of my friends did that - accidentally set her hair on fire. And 20 years later it still cracks me up

dytkos 17,982
I was a single parent yesterday. Took Mother back "oop North" and took my kids and their respective partners out for a Chinese meal. haven't seen them in over a year. Brilliant to have a family get together. PS My kids are 24 and 26! Cheers, D.
