Look who I found.

My lady's birthday today so we had a day out in Caldbeck.  a country village in rural Cumbria.

Life has stood almost still there. It has a village pond, a pub ,a cricket ground,  a rectory complete with a rookery as well as a working farm....  with a bored , tyre chasing, hyperactive collie bang in the middle of the village square .

There's a cottage with around a dozen  sunbathing cats and a village shop / post office still  surviving despite the rise of the supermarkets.

I had a walk in the church grounds and found this man.

He was one a celebrated national hero, but is now considered a bloodthirsty pervert by silly people. Do you Ken him?

We used to sing this song in school too.

I guess poaching and fox hunting songs are dying out quick. Only remembered by old relics like me.

Back in the day we sang rural songs even in  industrial Salford.

That's kind of you, but you keep it. It may be worth money at some point and only the two songs I've quoted mean anything to me.

It's best kept in Lancashire not in chilly jock land.👍
