I had a we border bitch, she was the loveliest we dog to own, swapped her for a bull russell bitch who was also great at her job, but i do miss the border. October when I plan to retire and get a placid easy to live with mooching dog a few breeds have come to mind including a whippet or small whippet cross a springer or cocker and have even thought about a well bred labrador. Going on some springer whippets my mate bred years ago would probably be ideal though litters of this cross would be hard to come by.
