NEWKID 29,519
Got to Nashville early yesterday afternoon, mammoth drive the day before from St Augustine in Florida to Chatanooga in Tennesse, right through Georgia, about 7 and half hours driving with 1 break, I loved it tbh .. stayed the night in Chatanooga and only 2 hour drive through the mountains to Nashville .got a room for 3 days here...I thought I knew what Nashville would be like, but I don't think anything can prepare you for that first walk down Broadway..it is truly amazing, for any music lover this place is unreal..I think 3 days will be enough for us, but we wont even scratch the surface, music from 10am to 3am in hundreds of bars...just madness.. Anyway Happy New Year to everyone, hope its a good one Edited December 31, 2025 by NEWKID 5
NEWKID 29,519 Posted Friday at 15:32 Author Report Share Posted Friday at 15:32 (edited) Ive never experienced such kindness from people. Sat in a bar with my wife and got talking to 2 blokes sat beside, turns out one is the head coach of the Bradley Braves college team. A little later the rest of his family turns up and we are talking to his sister and brother in law.. the coach asks his sister to arrange us tickets for the game on New Years Day, she takes my email address and sure enough sends us 2 tickets for the game.. we went yesterday evening, sat right behind his family who made a fuss of us, decent people, who offered us an experience... But it doesn't end there, after the coach and his family leave the bar, we are joined at the table by 2 couples around our age, we get talking and see in the New Year with them...again very nice people to talk with ..by this time we've been in the bar for around 4 hours, abd all of our drinks are on a tab.. the couples get up abd start to leave, I go to the bar to clear my tab, bit they have paid the full tab for us .. I couldn't believe it, it would've been around £150 as the drinks aren't cheap here... I've never known kindness like it towards strangers, I see myself as a generous type and will usually be the one paying etc, this was strange for me... we've found the people are really making this trip for us... mad! I can’t compare to this experience really but I’ve spent a little time in the states , and the month I spent in them little towns in and around San Diego and LA were exactly this , San Bernardino ( my granny’s sisters family lived there , I only found out after i came home ) , lake Elsinore and temecula will never feature in any tourist brochure but it was genuinely amazing knocking about there
