Well the 2025 pigs have gone. Took them in Monday and collected the produce yesterday. Didnt go for chops this time wanted mainly sausage and bacon.

24 joints

60lb Sausage

40lb bacon joints, currently curing

These have much less fat on them than previous ones. Could be the breed (Brittish sadle back X Pietrain) or could be that we managed feed better, or a combination of both.

Now I need a plan for the pig pen in-between. Going to grow veg in there, just need to decide what.

Yeah thats the plan, grow in it for 6m then let the pigs clear it up again. I just need to decide what veg will work in the space then move when I have the pigs to suit. I definitely want it to be productive inbetween pigs.
