Brit record 64 lb caught by georgina ballantine, huge fish, imagine catching this running up a UK river. Love a sensibly dressed lady

Honestly I would say well over fifty pounds. It was a once in a lifetime experience. My friend beats himself up about it. Says he put too much pressure on it. Should have played it to the point of exhaustion and so on. But that fish was never going to be landed. One shake of that enormous head and it was gone. We talk about it often. Unbelievable fish. Sometimes in banter, he'll gave the piss ripped out of him about that fish, " poor handling", "f****n beginner" etc. But I never join in. It's too serious a matter. Some subjects are out of bounds.
jukel123 9,889
Going back to the subject of pigeons. This is a dying hobby. It consists of your pouter (thief) cock bird attacting hens to your loft. I think they then swap them amongst themselves. It was popular in Glasgow Surprised it didnt take off in Liverpool. https://youtu.be/69_iyZCpfdU?si=GCwB75PotKZafR_c
gnipper 6,905
This is the way the Scottish guys fly the doos. I keep a more Spanish/cuban type of pouter and fly mine for ferals Like this kind of type
jukel123 9,889
It's brilliant you keep the hobby alive . All these working mens hobbies are disappearing fast. So it's good there are still some diehards. I used to keep Voorburgs. They were a pouter. If you bowed to them and cooed like a pigeon they would do it back. I lost a lot to a hawk and my final pair were poor feeders so they kind of died out. I might get some pouters again though. Edited 6 hours ago by jukel123
