Funny enough stayed just outside Toxteth one time and drank in a pub called the Black Swan (I think), looked a right dive but as with a lot of places treat the locals right and in no time we had a good laugh and was well recieved. I think the whole areas of cities being taken over by Asians and other immigrants are beyond repair to be honest, it's been a conversation for at least 30 years, first time I was in Bradford was with my Dad at around 14, couldn't believe what I had walked into!! that's over 30 years ago.. I had a meeting with an Egyptian chap in a restaurant in Tower Hamlets a few years back, I can honestly say I was the only white face in there, I stayed in a hotel there that night and walked along that main street, f**k me it's eye opening! Worked all around London most of the areas around it have huge asian communities, it has a strange feel at times, like your in the UK but not lol... Cardiff the same (as you know mate)... I don't know for me Liverpool seems to hold onto it's history, the people are very proud in the main, I like the place, wouldn't want to live there but enjoy it every time I visit.

Got say that's pretty much bang on, Rome, Paris, New York, London are disgusting in certain areas... loads of other places too, but the Western worlds main cities are changed forever, no doubt about it... I said after we visited Tokyo what a place, absolutely spotless and we travelled as far and wide as we could on the rail network over the 6 days we were there, it felt good there, vibrant but polite, 90% of the people we interacted with were Japanese, the rest Aussies, Americans and Brits.. the suburbs were so clean it was un real, we travelled on the train to Mount Fuji through lots of smaller towns, suburbs of Tokyo, you could see the pride in their homes and gardens.. the streets were spotless... As a city it somewhere to aspire to imo... true nationalistic pride and identity.

I haven't mate, spent all my time in the South as a lad and young man as our family was close to Dundalk (that was an interesting night out back then!! lol). Will definitely visit Belfast though as it's been recommended a few times now.

But then again, you could say the same about Palermo…… Brussels is like the f***ing Congo ! Paris is f***ing awful in places! When the Killers released their first album, Hot Fuss, a chap that was managing our little band at the time got me an Marie tickets for a real small, intimate Killers gig in the outskirst of Paris, like the music and arts quarter (can't remember the name of it). Anyway we stayed close by and a few miles out of the city centre, f**k me what a complete and utter jungle of a place... Marie was doing her usual 2 hour make up session so I f****d off for a pint whilst I waited for her, it's the most uneasy I've ever felt in any city, you know the looks, the vibe.. all ethnic types everywhere, I stuck out like a sore thumb lol This was the night before the gig, we met the manager chap later on and went for dinner, he was a rough around the edges bloke, and a speedway rider back in the day, was just the wrong side of the line in a few ways.. I liked him a lot and we had some great times... anyway, we sit down for dinner and this rough old twat starts speaking fluent French, I mean seamless.. orders dinner for everyone, has a conversation with the waitress etc,.. we're all sat there gob smacked, if any bloke should not be bi lingual it was him... me and Marie just sat there crying with laughter, he loved it... lol Edited 3 minutes ago by NEWKID
