tatsblisters 10,923 Posted yesterday at 07:03 Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:03 See the Labour party have given the go ahead for an inquiry into orgreave. My own personal opinion as an ex miner even though i wasn't at Orgreave i think this is a waste of tax payers money and it's another ploy by the Labour party to try and stem the support they are loosing in ex mining communities.
jukel123 9,226 Posted yesterday at 07:31 Report Share Posted yesterday at 07:31 Everybody knows what happened. The police were instructed to attack people protesting about losing their jobs. They did so. Some appeared to enjoy it. Some taunted the protesters. The police are supposed to be non political but they were turned into agents of the deep state. The police, under government instruction, now arrest people for expressing opinions. How deep state is that? What's the point of an enquiry ,( a good earner for the pen pushers who will write up the report) to confirm what we already know? 4

Miraculously no one got killed at Orgreave and like you said most knew what went on in that year long strike especially ex miner's like me. I am still of the opinion that the labour party have done it to keep a promise they made before the election on an inquiry and a rise in our pensions both of which they have honoured due to them becoming more unpopular day by day.

I don't know what the inquiry will focus on. But I hope it will point out how ex mining communities are now shitholes with every sort of social problem under the sun. Thatcher just shut the pits down and put nothing else in their place. Orgreave wasn't just an attack on miners but all of us. Government are supposed to make lives better. But now they have become the enemy.

Do you think it’s a smoke and mirrors job because Labour is massively loosing its support amongst its core union vote mate ? As in, pretend to throw them something in the hope they like them again ? I agree, many of us in the south didn’t realise the significance of killing those communities at the time….its only now lads like me can reflect and realise we were f***ing stupid not to support the miners. 3
