Cant speak for the rest of ireland except the west and I’d say anything reared out of the west would keel over at the sight of a field say at 6 mile Bottom….they would never have experienced the likes of that or seen hares as strong. There just isn’t the game in this part of the world to give a dog anything closely resembling proper graft. But ireland certainly isn’t England or Scotland when it comes to terrain or sheer amount of game to chase. 1 Quote Link to post

Are you serious no game in the west of Ireland to give a dog graft that's silly talk places down there hold every mammal going actually there'd be more game down your end than up the north hares included Quote Link to post

This is the last response you will get from me because you have been trying to set fire to a decent chat amongst lads who ain’t trying to prove anything, just having a friendly chin wag and I won’t enable you. My last word is this, your reply there tells me you have seen precisely f**k all….its such a nonsensical thing to say it’s just not true…..you sound about 15 ! If you think you can give any running mutt proper graft even worthy of the name in the west of ireland then you have never stepped outside your house never mind been about and seen proper dogs do proper things ! That’s your lot….cheers ! 1 2 Quote Link to post

Some story’s just write themselves It’s been a tidy conversation amongst lads upto now, lads just chewing the fat, having a laugh and talking about a few mutts……been a long time since I seen anything worth engaging with in the lurcher section so it’s been an enjoyable read, I won’t be looking to f**k it all up. 1 Quote Link to post

So, where I live you won’t be having any 100 rabbit nights like Tomo used to have in Yorkshire or you won’t go to places like I used to in North Essex and see 3 or 4 herds of 40 or 50 wild Fallow just grazing away, you won’t see 50 hares in the same field like a place we used to go on the Suffolk border. This time of year when they had done the cut where used to live you see 12 or 15 foxes on the cut field that night and that was pretty much an urban environment just surrounded by farm land. There are only 3 species of deer in Ireland, not like the 6 we are lucky enough to have. Drive off the motorway at Flitwick at night and you will see 3 species of deer just wandering around at the side of the road ! It’s not a criticism, its just a reality….. 2 1 Quote Link to post
